Anyone read Duncs book yet?

The number of interviews the fella has done, I am surprised anybody needs to read the book tbh. What kind of percentage of new stuff is in there compared to what's already been shared in the hundreds of interviews and podcasts he's been on in recent months?

Very very little really other than a bit of insight into the madness of the club over the last 5 years

Listening to his audiobook, the best bits are from his period here as a coach. Loads of tea-spilling.

Kenwright - Ferguson loves him but he undoubtedly was an laughable old queen. Pitting his sycophants against each other and being horrified when Dunc swore once when talking to Moshiri. He ridiculously tried to claim credit for getting him (DF) the interim job for Chelsea, when Moshiri had basically already given it to him. Dunc just rolled his eyes.

Unsworth - truly a snivelling brown nose. Walked in from nowhere and got all the important jobs simply because he was Bill's boy. He actually says; "Ronald Koeman was sacked so they (Bill and Denise) could get in David Unsworth".
Would always follow new managers around FF and constantly offering them cups of tea, clothes and lifts (Koeman was creeped out).

Martinez - very polite and good in training, but he (DF) was forced upon him as a coach by Kenwright. It all felt very awkward.

Rooney - Ferguson more than anyone pushed for his return. Koeman wasn't interested but Ferguson helped Wayne basically blag a sort of interview at Koeman's house. FFS Dunc.

Allardyce - amiable bloke who liked Duncan for his honesty. He was adamant about getting Tosun, then realised after 3 days what a crab he was. 😂

Silva - another who had Dunc forced upon him. Was always negative and persisted with stupid tactics. Also, wouldn't leave a tip for a waitress after a staff night out. Never stood chance with his personality.

Lampard - really smart guy who he thinks will end up having a good coaching career. Had a row with Rondon once where basically told him how terrible a player he was.

Brands - arrogant so and so who spoke dismissively to everyone. None of the club staff liked him.

DBB - Bill's little minion who thought she was way cleverer than what she was.
Your excellent summary would convince me to read it even if I hadn't intended to anyway. I had to laugh when Dunc referred to his ghost writer as 'some guy called Henry Winter' because Henry is renowned as one of the top football journalists. I was disappointed when left The Telegraph (that I only used to buy for the crossword btw) for The Times. Not sure whether to read it or listen to it though. Dunc was so entertaining on
Got the audio book- very good. I feel like if ive heard most of it on the overlap but still very entertaining..

He seems like a genuine lad who let's the red mist cloud his judgement..

His agent Dennis sounded like a proper swindler.
I've just watched the interview for the second time. Say what you like about Sky, The Overlap, especially Stick to Football, is so entertaining. Always loved listening to Ian Wright and Roy Keane, but adding Jill Scott was a masterstroke as she adds something to it that Gary Neville was never going to. I respect his views but he's a bit of a borin-zzzzzzz.

Sorry, dozed off there.

All the stuff about players and managers should be kept in-house.

You dont wash your dirty linen in public. It's snide and brings the club into disrepute.

We're better than that. Better than him.

Cheers mate. I've listened to most of it now and there's a lot of other interesting bits as well.

About Ancelotti - as brilliant a fella and manager as you'd imagine he is. Davide is meant to be great company as well. During their time here, Carlo's ex (Davide's mum) was very ill back in Italy, so they were both really worried about and stressed. The final few months of that season he seemed really fed up with everything. Our crap players, our pathetic Board, the robbery incident. Duncan is convinced he was always going to leave regardless of Real coming in for him.

There's some good stuff too about Gary Ablett, Bobby Robson, and of course Moyes. He and the latter had some very nasty rows before he retired.

It's defo worth a listen.

Its pretty funny how Moyes wouldnt put up with any of Duncan's s#%@e.

Think even Dunc would admit it now he could be a problem in the dressing room before he matured, and Moyes identifyed that and didnt take any of it, even as a ypung manager.

Imagine some of our managers since attempting to deal with Duncan, Silva & Martinez would of ended up quitting

Just finished listening, I like Dunc and seems he was treated shoddily at first as a coach, they barely paid him. I hope he can get himself into management, he's struggling because of reputation preceding him apparently but he loves coaching. I never realised what a generous bloke he was, he's given away a fortune if what he says is right.

I loved the part where he said Carlo couldn't believe how bad the players were and I feel it vindicated a lot of fans who had said that they can't even pass to each other. The standard of footballer has dropped dramatically if you ask me, they're athletes first and foremost, football ability lags behind.

I was surprised to hear Carlo had had enough and had plans in place to leave months before it happened; So it wasn't just the lure of Madrid, he was offski anyway, couldn't deal with the players lack of ability. It's hardly surprising though when all the best players are stockpiles at just a few clubs and as soon as a club outside of that group has a good player, he's soon taken by one of those clubs.

Carlo and Everton was that romantic one night stand we ruined but we'll always look back and say "what if?"
