I wonder if playing regularly is all its. cracked up to be.

Say I’m KDH getting mega wedge at Chelsea playing what once a forthright, playing in Europe and winning trophies - sounds sweeter then dogging it out on Weds to Sat in the Championship or in a relegation battle at the bottom of the table.

I often wonder would I be thinking to myself, this gig and Chelsea playing once a fortnight or so is far kinder to my body then elsewhere and if I stay for a while I’ll be able to prolong my career, maintain a high profile, earn and finish my career later after keeping the miles down, earning more.

Do you think playing solely playing in the Europa Conference league means he'll now get minutes in the champions league?

There'll be a squad for Europe (Sadly both Delap and KDH play very little)
Squad for the League (Delap may get some joy, KDH not so much)
Squad for the Fa cup (defo both)
Squad for the league cup (defo get both)

So for the most part they're keeping themselves fit for that big test against Plymouth Argyle or Southend back end of December/2026.

This is the classic question of modern sports.

Are you a player who is mostly focused on maximizing career earnings?

Or are you a player that first and foremost loves playing football, and the money that comes with it is a bonus, with the mindset that even if you don't maximize your earnings, you've still made enough to be set for life

I think history proves that even for the "big" clubs, in any sport, the more players you have that fit into the latter category, the more of a chance you have to win things

I think every notch you hit on the career belt, means more money you can negotiate as a player in the future. What you achieve is your CV, the higher your profile the more money.

If you play for a top four club, higher profile more money you can negotiate, play in Europe rais e your profile negotiate more money, win a European trophy same thing, play for England etc.

In Delaps case that’s what would have been on his and his advisors minds.

He can do more of the above and improve his career prospects at. Helps them Everton at the moment.

It’s a no brainer really.

We’re not sitting at the dinner table with Chelsea yet in relation to offering the above.
