Transfer Rumour Liam Delap

If you are English/British and are even just a half decent player then PL clubs will go all out to buy you at over inflated prices. Delap may prove us all wrong and become the next Alan Shearer/Harry Kane but unless he becomes a 'worldy' overnight then he will become just another bit part in the Chelsea squad. He will have a couple of seasons to prove us wrong at most but he may well have to warm the bench for a considerable part of that time. At least his wage packet will keep his backside warm.

£200.000 a week and 7year contract, he could get a crippling ingery in the first year. And still be getting paid all his contract what's not to like about Chelsea.
It's obscene how Chelsea operate tying players into elongated contracts to swerve PSL guidelines. But as you say, he's only one cruciate away from being sidelined for months but he will still pick up his wages irrespective. Oh, to be a pro-footballer at the highest level. No SSP to concern himself with if the worst was to happen and fair play, it's the industry in which he is involved.

Ah well, a penny for his thoughts when he’s sat inside our shiny new stadium on their subs bench next year.

Incidentally ’ideal lamp’ is an anagram of Liam Delap, and something else that usually sits on the side. There’s that.

It was always a big ask to take a chance on us even with a new stadium, owners and Moyes.

We need some stability before we become attractive to the shiny new things

Personally I thought he was a good fit but we need to move on to the next target

Horrific move to Chelsea. Must be some amount of cash involved or really want to live in London. Newcastle would have been by far the smarter option. Chelsea are in decline.

I was intrigued but that is about the extent of it. I always question any youth player going to Chelsea as it is TOUGH when you are fighting 50 top loanees for a spot in the rotation.

I think they're in with a decent shout of winning the league next year, given the talent they've got.

Would be good move to us for long term development, but tbf Chelsea has only Jackson for his position, so a good chance to ger his place as well.
