Other Clubs Transfer Window 2025-2026.

The Arsenal fan that was on here last week got it spot on - he said Arsenal urgently needed a striker but Arteta would get another midfielder. Expect some fume if they do not strengthen up front.
We had the chance to sign Ekitike for just shy of £12m. I'm amazed the conveyor belt of talent at PSG isn't being picked off by a PL club more often. As for arsenal, they want the kid who was at coventry was it? gyokeres or similar, they'll get their marquee striker, have nothing left in the larder, and he'll get injured for the season. Once Everton etc...

Look at what it’s taken to get them there though, and even now they can still drop 60 mill on Cunha, we can’t.

They’ve pretty much had unlimited money for years, spent it on rubbish, and not even sold very effectively. They’re only now getting a slap across the wrist.

We spent some money in about 3 seasons out the last 30 and got slapped with 8 point deduction and the complete decimation of our entire squad through forced sales not to mention losing Ancelotti.

We had 17/18 under Koeman, 18/19 under Silva, and 20/21 under Ancelotti as big spending periods. Even then in this period we sold Stones Lukaku Barkley Gueye for big fees to offset some of that.

I’m not saying we followed all the rules but the punishment has been disproportionate. We’ve ended up with a shell of a squad of poor players to comply with these regulations and incurred deductions. United are only just having to even think about being careful.

Bigger revenues and better accountants.

We should be looking at doing the same.

I will say the wage bill at United is ridiculous though. Mason Mount is on close to £200k a week for example.

200-250 for mount
350ish a pop for rashford and casemiro

You'd have to assume penandes will be on similar

I don't think United are still in that bracket, or at least they aren't at the moment.

A few years out of CL and a poor period of PL performance, coupled with their inflated wage bills, is meaning they are going to have to be careful.
Their global brand and appeal is sinking fast as well. They needed a Saudi style takeover.

So the RS will basically self fund. Wirtz, the kid from Bournemouth, Frimpong by selling Nunez, the second choice keeper, Doak and probably Elliot for ~£200m.

I really wish we had gone in for Edwards.

they’ve always got money for flipping their players

Most of the top clubs are doing the same. City have been selling young players for a few years now. They stock pile young talent and if they don't break into the first team long term they are now selling them for millions a piece.
