2024/25 Michael Vincent Keane

Yeah we’re talking about buying one CB who doesn’t even need to go straight into the 11 and some people are acting like this is a bigger risk than keeping a known failed quantity in Keane. I’d rather give any minutes he gets to the best youth CB we have. At least if he makes mistake he’ll learn from them. Keane has had 8 years here and hasn’t improved one bit.
Handing him a new deal is throwing good money after bad.

It's also lazy, unambitious, "will that do?" stuff from the manager.

Deserves a new contract on reduced wages to reflect his playing less

Always good to keep players who can play multiple positions, would seriously consider him a back up forward rather than back up defender

I think the reality is he's always been better on the attack than defence. We've got Broja going and DCL hopefully going, we need someone who can be a back up to Beto and Chermiti

We actually need a first choice striker who pushes Beto to backup, not Michael Keane as backup. Even that is unlikely to be enough, so we likely need a first choice striker and another, perhaps an up and coming one. I'm still not 100% averse to keeping Keane on a highly reduced wage for a year though as emergency centre half cover, and I think that's exactly what will happen.

The only thing I can take from this is it was posted at silly o'clock so you must be very very drunk or incredibly high.

Sleep well

A few half decent performances in beach football at the end of the season means nothing. Has shown that he doesn't have the mentality for any kind of competitive football at the top level. Wouldn't even keep him on reduced wages as back-up; we need to demonstrate that his ilk are no longer acceptable for Everton Football Club in this new era.

Always plays well in first few games for a new manager too
Add the new contract situation and this improvement looks another false flag
I trust Moyes though, gotta say

It's the Premier League not the U-11s
Scoring a goal as an extra man in the box when chasing is not the same as playing forward for 90min
People need to leave this weird notion behind
He won't get any faster, won't turn any quicker and won't become a king of confidence by playing out of the position he's played his whole career in

It could suit Keane better to move on and get a good signing on fee and decent wages off other clubs in the premier or championship league, I really think we should let him go.
