Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I went to Mainz vs Stuttgart in January.

Had never heard of this lad before, but within 10 mins me and my mate were looking at each other going "who the **** is this?"

Really, really unusual player - like if you crossed Peter Crouch with Iliman Ndiaye

Not convinced he's a proper number 9, more like a 2nd striker but the lad is unique. Not sure I've ever seen anyone like him before

Heads it like N’Diaye and dribbles like Crouch?

YES!! . I told my lad he reminded me of Crouch x Kvaratskelia.
Like a ballet-dancing stepladder.

I often wonder if our club should operate a 'tip line' for stuff like this... Seems like any scouting system worth a toss should have a way of capturing and screening info from the worldwide fan base.... All it would take is one email address per continent that the recruitment wonks at Finch farm can survey and assign scouts to watch promising leads. It's basic stuff, like getting sales leads. Anyone know if they do this?

this is how Walsh, Kenwright and Moshiri operated in 2017

The frustrating thing about the traditional modern big clubs having a bad season is that some players that wouldn't usually be on their radar are, will be a tough window for us I reckon as there will be some players we have interest in that will join other clubs.

“then give him the possibility to leave in 2/3 years”

Come on young man...

No Europe after two years, then you can leave for 50M.

In the meantime he starts every week, earns shedloads, and if he does brilliantly, he gets into the England team and we get into Europe, which means he stays.

Win, Win, Win!!.

This sort of pragmatism is the only way we will attract the best.

Accept that good players may leave - just ride the wave of their good form like Lukaku, Stones etc. then come out if it quids in.

If we exceed expectations then they can stay.

i don’t think we have a player like Gana that is performing so highly across the leagues in key metrics for his position

and on the eye test he is just superb, been really good in transition to attack and some really good quick link up play, see Ndiayes goal v Spurs as an example

we definitely need to sign an understudy to him but its clear he’s still at the top of his game

he’s also clearly very popular in the squad, and whilst it’s necessary for us to have an overhaul, there seems to be a really good camaraderie between the players which we should be trying to retain
