Shearer joined Blackburn aged 22 having scored 23 goals in 118 games and the rest is history. Not saying he will be half as good as Shearer but he is exactly the type of player we should be buying. If he scores 15 in 37 for us he will double in value.

Indeed.

He gets less than 10 in his first season here he'll get booed

Your using an example from 1992

He has options. Will be interesting to see what route he takes. I'm sure if he listens to his agent, he'll be on top money sat on a bench at Utd or Chelsea, but if he wants regular football, Everton would be a better choice for his career. Even at Newcastle, he's going to be second fiddle behind Isak.
I don't know who his agent is, but some agents do actually look after the careers of their clients rather than just chasing a %. If it's Kia Joorabchian you can, of course, forget that as he only looks out for 1 person!

Wherever he goes, he will be wanting to play every week. World cup year with nobody having nailed down the 2nd striker spot behind Kane, perfect opportunity for him to stake his place.

Suspect if he came here, he would be looking for a release clause in his contract to allow him to take another step should it be that he continues his progression.

If it doesn't work out, still a good chance of recouping most of the 30m by moving him on.

I think if he was happy to sit on the bench for big money he would have stayed at City. If anything, his and Cole Palmer's success from moving away and playing should be an eye opener to young players about how important game time is.

If Tuchel's recent squads are anything to go by, a transfer to Chelseas would be his best option to get into the World Cup squad

I don't really know much about him to form an opinion. He looked poor against us but that's just one game. Double figures for a relegated club like Ipswich is pretty decent.

We need to sell the lukaku dream. Where playing as the most important player and scoring goals will propel the career.*
Just a couple of years of effort, and you can then take your foot off the pedal, eat ice cream but still play for the worlds top clubs.

* obviously need to put up with some serious over criticism

At Chelsea, he's a project to sit on the bench with the rest of the 45 man squad.
At United he's gonna be back up to Cunha.
At the horsepunchers he's back up to Isak.

Comes here you give him a No9 shirt to try on, then you walk him along Goodison Road under those other Everton No9s we cherish and adore.
Then you take him to the new gaff and ask him where he wants his name next to the other Legends.

No brainer.
Welcome to Everton Liam

….ESPN now saying he’s agreed personal terms with United but I’d imagine every club speaking to him have been prepared to meet his financial demands. If it’s the case, we might know more in the next few hours.
