Hopes for next season.

Europe

To have a proper pre-season and win at least a couple of our first half dozen league games for a change. Put us in good stead for a decent season. 10th and above with signs that our footy is progressive. Couple of quality players each season for next couple of seasons could have us easily fighting for europe

The rebuild will take a couple of seasons. We're obviously looking up the table for progression. If we maintain the progress we've made under Moyes, then we should be looking at 60+ points as next seasons target, which should get us to the fringes of the euro places. That's be my hopes at least.

Depends on who we sign and who gets injured of course. But if we are blessed by the gods of transfer and hamstring then, with nearly half the Premier League competing in Europe - including teams who have overachieved of late - and with Villa in big money trouble too, we could get top 8 and a run in at least one of the cups.

Would love to win a trophy. How about 8th place and the League Cup?

Would bite your hand off right now for that

We’ve just beaten the almighty Newcastle away from home in their cup final (or playoff for the CL whatever) and we did it with Jack Harrison and Ashley Young on the pitch.

A season throws up all kinds of variables, like injuries etc, but with some decent recruitment we don’t need to fear anyone, and that includes the likes of Newcastle and Villa, who definitely have no God given right to finish ahead of us next season.

I share a lot of the hopes expressed in this thread, but tbh I’d take just a season entirely untouched by the spectre of relegation. That is, provided it seems obvious work is going on the lay foundations for the future. Might be unambitious, but the first step for me is to watch Everton without that - too familiar - existential dread filling almost every moment.
