He played 34 PL matches, started 28. 1000 more minutes than McNeil, one more goal involvement. And McNeil was carrying around Dyche for half of that.

He had a poor season. Doesn't mean he won't be better, but the one good season could be called an aberration or this season an aberration. At 24, he's still not a proven star.
Mcneil has a lot of assists from set pieces too
They really are a very different profile

Clueless as usual.

List the players they have ‘wasted’ money on. As in they won’t be able to recoup it..

What part of clueless mate? They literally haven't beaten us this season.

Barnes, Tonali, Burn, Wood, Livramento, Hall just off the top of my head.

They've spent 500m and couldn't get more points than us post Moyes. Thats not brilliantly spent money in general

I'd take Livramento, Burns, Guimares, Tonali, Murphy, Gordon, Barnes and Isaak who would all walk into our starting 11.

But apart from 6-7 players of that kind of calibre, yes it wouldn't take much to catch them up I suppose

Murphy and Burn wouldn't get near our team. As we saw yesterday. Our second back 2 outdid him.

The rest are good, but they paid a lot. I'm not convinced about Livramento.

The key word there is “another”. If he’s already had talks with Newcastle but has gone back there for more talks, that would indicate that he leaning towards them you’d think.
Champions League, progressive manager, the chance to prove himself.

They are the logical choice.

We can offer him a guaranteed start and the progressive manager, but if he's backing himself he's going there right now. Pity. He could be a hero here.

If only there was some sort of table at the end of the season. Or cup competitions to judge how your season has been.

And you don’t think they would get there money back on those players? 🤣🤣

Tonali had an excellent season - Burn paid off his fee with one head of a football.

I’d argue that getting champions league and winning a trophy during the season means more than not getting more points than us since Moyes returned.

They’ve spent well and despite us beating them yesterday they’ve got a really strong team.

I doubt it. Who's buying Barnes for 45m? They literally didn't get their money back on Wood mate.

And yes, there is a table, since Moyes returned they have the same number of points as us. Having spent 500m.

Would you pay 30m+ on Livramento or Hall? Or 60 odd on Tonali? I'm not sure I would.

Isak and Gordon have been great buys.

Murphy would walk into our team

We've been playing Harrison out of position at RW

Murphy is arguably their player of the season this year, been brilliant

That's not my argument though. I'm just pointing out what has happened, not which is better.

For me, 500m quid on the evidence I saw yesterday is a huge amount of money, for a team that doesn't look that special to me. It's workmanlike and ok, but you'd probably want a bit more for 500m in my view. We finished 5th regularly spending far less.

Remember when we bid 13 million for Alan Shearer a day after Newcastle had 15m accepted by Blackburn?

Oh, how we laughed...
I've already mentioned it just before you, yeah the Everton fake bids were a joke and taking the piss out of us fans. I remember Kenwright doing an interview talking about Moutinho and another incredible player, with the watch this space line. Even going further back the Muller transfer saga and even Martin Dahlin. Good grief we've cocked up a lot of transfer deals
