No mate, it was deffo a centre half. Someone they signed from Sampdoria. I'll try and find out who it is.

I'm sure it was Pedro Obiang
I'm sure there were way more than one cock-teaser over the years that lifted their skirt for us, only to end up signing for another club because we were being too 'gentleman-ly'?! 🤔

Would like him but hopefully we've got alternatives. New steiker and Beto competing next season, Chermitti out on loan, DCL likely retained as a rotation option if he drops his ridiculous demands.

Beto probably has double figures in him if used correctly, we've seen it these past few months. If we get another who'll get at least 10 we'll have fixed a major problem with the squad.

I agree. They have spent over 500m on that squad as well, and a lot of it is bang average from what I can see. Isak and that midfielder aside.

They are a very good side. Joelinton was obviously injured yesterday but they have an excellent midfield 3, two very good young full backs, a world class striker and 3 decent wingers.

I don’t think they’ve signed a single dud with that money tbh.

The key word there is “another”. If he’s already had talks with Newcastle but has gone back there for more talks, that would indicate that he leaning towards them you’d think.
the “another” doesn’t necessarily mean it’s his second round of talks with them, rather, he’s had talk with us, Chelsea and United and this is another team his reps are having talks with.

Na come on. Let's not get caught up in this endless merry-go-round stuff with a player again...

Any indication that we aren't his first choice just f him off. Cba.

United can't even afford toast in the morning at the Training Ground....and their rebuild is pretty unprecedented bar historic relegations, so unlikley he'll see an attraction there. Chelsea, maybe. However, the constant turnover of managers and players plus the fragile nature of how that Club operates might also make it quite daunting.
Newcastle, Arsenal and Villa would all be in contention if they had an interest in him and all three are ahead of us in their path to regeneration. That said, here he'd be the main man I expect, which at this stage of his career could well be very motivational. Plus, TFG are very likely to support a marquee signing to light the Royal Blue touchpaper.
I'm mildly optimistic we're in with a very good shout of attracting him to our Club.
Is Delap a marquee signing? Not for me. That would be someone already proven at the highest level who everyone else would look at and go 'wow, he signed for Everton, didn't see that coming'.

The other interest in Delap, and the comments of the England manager, suggests he must be a good, potentially very good, player but statistically (and I know it is about more than just the numbers) he has not delivered anything amazing this season. His all round play may be getting plaudits - but we need consistently more goals and assists from our forwards. Maybe Moyes can get that out of him - I am just not sure.

Would I take him - yes - do I think we can find equal or better for the same price if he goes elsewhere - yes.
