2024/25 Ashley Young

Very good performance again. Has looked much better since getting rid of Dyches' utter disaster of defensive tactics, the narrow full backs, has meant all of his defending isn't inside the box.

Would have been good backup for another year.
He has looked better because he has not been playing every minute of every game. Solid pro who can do a job in a number of positions, it's what he should have been all along for us.

Nobody watching that game without prior knowledge would have known our right back today was 39 years of age.
In his time with us he might have had two or three high-profile poor games but so have all the others (excepting our goalie). I was very dismissive of the decision to recruit him but it was a good one. Thank you to Ashley and the very best of luck in the future.

Was horrible for a stretch last season and the beginning of this. Couldn’t go a game without a blunder leading to a goal, an OG, or a sending off, or several of these.

But he has been quite solid for most of the campaign. No knock on him to say that the emergence of O’Brien likely took the pressure off. Sneakily good going forward.

Can’t fault the decision to move him on but happy for him and for the club that he finished strongly with us. Will probably make a better manager than his former back-line-mate at Watford. Mr Dyche.

Spot on, Dyche flogged him to death.

Used sensibly, as Moyes has been doing since he took over, he`s showed he can still do a job.

If he`s wanting to be more than a sub or a bit part player, he needs to drop down a division, as his misuse by Dyche has showed, he`s not got it in his locker anymore to be playing game in game out in the Prem. ( not his fault by the way )

An absolutely great pro. It's been a rocky 2 seasons whilst he's been here but he has given his all and that's all you can ask for.

If only he had come to us earlier in his career. I wish him well whatever he does or wherever he goes next in his footballing career.
