2024/25 David Moyes

He’s a Kevin Kilbabe for this generation mate, Killer used to play the same role.

I won’t be surprised if he stays if I’m honest.

I get the analogy, but I think they were different players.

I don't mean to go overboard, but Harrison is very good without the ball in terms of positional play and pressing.

I could easily see another loan.

Not exactly like for like stylistically of course mate, similar though, but fulfilling that hybrid role of second full back/winger.

I agree mate and I think Moyes values that, particularly away.

Be up to Leeds, he’s no clause active now, so I imagine Leeds will want done return or get him out of their hair.

Kinnear will obviously have the inside track.

Done so well this season he can run West ham as a side gig

Everton manager points per game stats

Frank lampard 1.00
Fat waiter 1.14
Sean Dyche 1.23
Marco Silva 1.38
Roberto Martinez 1.44
David Moyes I 1.54
Carlos Ancelotti 1.60
David Moyes II 1.63

Just a little update on this for @davek who i know was very upset that Bobby got left out of the original list (and who has been UNUSUALLY quiet on this thread the last couple of weeks)

I said it before that his dry spells take you out of competing for anything. He is too pragmatic. You have to be a team that can score goals and he will stick somebody in behind the striker that will do more defending than attacking. You cannot have these massive win droughts and expect to compete. He grinds out games. The footy is okay. He isn't terrible. I think those goals from Beto early on made him look better than he was. No harm done. He did the job. I'm not sure if we should fire him unless we can do so for free (not sure if he is still on the payroll next year), but we should not trust him with recruitment and we should be looking towards the future. If an offer is too good to pass up aka an Emery caliber manager is available, you take them.
Hard n probably fair summary that.

We're a big club, huge success in the past and huge attendances at BMD coming I'm sure.

But the reality of West Ham, Utd, Spurs hanging around us in the table shows that isn't enough.

The types of clubs in some of the Europe places shows what decent mgt and recruitment can do this league.

I'm sort of pleased that Moyes (who's the only manager to make a sustained positive impact in 20 years at GP )leads us out at at BMD, and stabilizes TFG's investment plans.

Not saying he has to make Europe or anything daft to be a success. But the points about ambition in the previous post are spot on. I hope he goes for it!

Goals, top 10 and to see a couple of academy breakthrough is a very good start. Don't waste cash, we've tried that. Culture first.

Suspect it won’t be so easy / cheap with Leeds back in the Prem, think he could go on loan for free when they while they were in the champ.

(Great work looking after Leeds interests by Angus Kinnear btw)

Think we would be forth or fifth
Think it’s lower than that.

9th of you include the Villa game (which I’d argue shouldn’t be as he only took over that day).

4th if you remove the Villa game and start from spurs game. So it’s pretty tight between all those places.

Is there a league table out there of where we are in the table if the season was just games with Moyes in charge?
Seen the table online and we would be 9th. IIRC 7 points separated us from 1st.
Dyche left us in 17th 1 point clear of relegation zone and Moyes with same amount of games and basically same team got us the equivalent of 9th and 23 points clear of relegation zone.

Only the RS, Arsenal and Chelsea conceded less than us but we only scored more than the bottom 3.

Still reckon Dyche would have not taken us down because of the state of the bottom 3 but don't believe we would have got more than 38 points and would have finished 17th.

The difference of management between them is day and night

Found it

Take into consideration the throw away games of Man Utd and Ipswich (4 pts) and we would have been in 3rd place.
Great feat by any standard
