I was of the belief the ref let play continue and that the only reason he stopped playing was for the head injury protocols when the forest player kept rolling around holding his head. We had the ball playing it across the back for a good few seconds before he stopped play. Then gave the free after. Moyes looked mystified over the decision aswelThey didn't intervene. Free kick was already given. Checked for serious foul play most likely but can't suggest yellow, which incidentally he didn't get for that challenge. It was the one after.
Just my interpretation of it. If VAR gave it then they shouldn't haveI was of the belief the ref let play continue and that the only reason he stopped playing was for the head injury protocols when the forest player kept rolling around holding his head. The free kick wasnt given at all. There was no advantage to them cause we had the ball, so why take so long to blow the whistle? It seemed like forever, id reckon at least 5-7 seconds after contact was made that the whistle was blownThey didn't intervene. Free kick was already given. Wasn't it ? Pretty sure it was a free kick. Anyway, I don't really care that much. The free kick wasnt given at all. Indeed. I'm amazed that wasn't a penalty. In a world where the Polish goalkeeper, falling backwards to reach a high ball, brushed Lionel Mess's head with his fingers and was penalised for a spot kick at the World Cup, how on earth was that not a penalty yesterday? There has been no word in the press, motd or anywhere really of what it looked to me a clear penalty on alcaraz which is surprising. Looked to me a stonewall penalty. Not sure it was even checked by var. He is taking out by the defender who misses the ball completely. I know the one on beto you could argue starts outside the box really.
So according to hacket, former referee, there wasn't enough contact from Yates to alcaraz...it was alcaraz momentum that went against yates. Pure and simple incompetence...Yates went for the ball, which he missed whereas alcaraz made contact with the ball...penalty for me all day longThere has been no word in the press, motd or anywhere really of what it looked to me a clear penalty on alcaraz which is surprising. when is a follow through not a (dangerous) follow through..?So according to hacket, former referee, there wasn't enough contact from Yates to alcaraz...it was alcaraz momentum that went against yates. Obviously nearly taking his head off is not enough contact or intent. So according to hacket, former referee, there wasn't enough contact from Yates to alcaraz...it was alcaraz momentum that went against yates. I noticed he has said the tarkowski clearance when Mac ALlister jumped in thew way of his follow through, should have been a red. Are they retrospectively looking at Virgil van Bader's assault on Onana way after Onana passed the ball away too? No??Howard Webb trying to sanctify the RS winning this tinpot sham of a league I see.
The Coote protocol is still in play.
Another one for the list…. Chelsea keeper challenge on Myko.
Hackett said: “The challenge by the goalkeeper is a clear reckless challenge and should have resulted in a penalty kick and yellow card.
“It amazes me that there is no intervention from VAR, who should have determined that the referee taking no action is a clear and obvious error. Poor officiating.”
