If we get a new first choice forward, then I don't see DCL getting much game time if he stays given that Beto has been scoring goals. Wouldn't mind if he stayed though as it's an extra body and we'd only be paying his wages.

don’t think we can afford someone on 80-100k to be third choice

i think if we do sign a striker and offload DCL, we would be looking at a bosman or a loan to cover the 3rd slot, with Chermiti going out on loan
 
He wasn't costing us anything so I don't see the problem.
It was a very last minute punt that didn't work out but I don't think it affected our season in any way.
Except his wages which would have blocked a potential January loan.

But what’s the equivalent cost of purchasing and then wages for a new third choice?

Eg, Chermiti was 12m as well as his wages. 3 year contract for DCL would be equivalent but could also look to sell him in a year and even just a few million is profit on the transfer etc
