This has Ben Doak’s contract ending June 30th this year. I’m assuming Liverpool have one of those options to extend an extra year which seems common these days? Even if that’s the case, 12 months left doesn’t leave them in a great bargaining position. Sure I saw a report somewhere that he won’t sign another deal either due to a lack of opportunities.
As difficult as dealing with them obviously is, think there’s a deal to be done there.

Every time he’s played for the country he’s the focal point of the attack… and that includes Italian league winner McTominay. His injuries are the thing that would put me off. That and the price. And that it’s the RS and they’ll make a profit on him and those scruffs will run that in our faces

I don’t think it’s that easy. We sold Gueye and only ever found an adequate replacement for him when… well, when we bought him back. There aren’t many players out there who does what he does to that standard. More tackles than anyone in the league by a mile at the age of 35.
