minor things that make you fume

Not everyone is so spritely and nimble to be able to face stairs. And with lifts usually tucked away in corners of shops and often there being a queue, some of the aged and infirm choose to let the escalator do the work.

The driving standards thread brought up the lack of patience when out and about day to day. What is everyone hurrying for?
As I mentioned in an earlier post (from around the time I first raised this topic), I appreciate that some people do have mobility issues which may prevent them from being able to move freely on an escalator or staircase. However, my post was not in relation to these individuals.

I am talking about those who choose to stop due to a lack of willingness to continue walking on an escalator even when able to do so with ease.

Are you quite posh?

It annoys me that people use escalators as an excuse not to continue walking, as they would on stairs.

I appreciate that some users have mobility issues and may like to take a break, but it is frustrating when people stop on an escalator which is otherwise empty when they could be walking.

I should also note that I prefer taking the stairs.
Stand on the right. Walk on the left.

Is this not universal?

Grifting so bad, you're a poster child for grifting.

If you have any knowledge of the base subject (metallurgy/real cost etc), you'll know how bad 💩 like this this is. Different version of this same commercial came up as a YouTube ad...added a new peak to today's grump level Specially designed for your avg Rogan-bro, this one.

These social media posts where it’s a video of one person talking, making a point about something or other, then someone else is posting it as their content with their face in the corner nodding away and pointing up.

One of my big hopes for humanity is that new generations coming through, will take one look at all this nonsense and be like ‘what is going on here!?’ and social media quickly dies out and people go back to being racist in quiet corners in their local spoons.

People on here who do not utilize paragraphs.

Their posts may be witty, informative, and designed to engender ongoing discussion.
The problem is that they ramble on in massive blocks of words that merge into unreadable slabs.
After trying to break it down I give up after about 5 minutes as my eyes start to blur at the meandering narrative.ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Never realised we had to walk on an escalator?? I've never done it or anyone I'm with

Yes, but the point is that a person stopping on escalators (as they may do on a public staircase) is still blocking the escalator for others who may be in a hurry. A lift is a confined space, therefore it makes no sense to walk around in a lift, except for entering or exiting the lift.

My initial point was partially raised because I often have to walk up an escalator and it puts me behind time when I am waiting for the person in front to continue walking. On occasion, it has caused me to miss a bus or train when travelling on a tight schedule.
