Everton Youth Teams Thread

Inevitable. I quite liked him as a keeper but the fact he couldn't get a loan this season was ominous for his future career.

Easily replaceable imo.

Probably helps us field a team next season and should be a level above most.

Heaths been training with the first team almost all season, he’s cracked the match day squad a couple of times to, with the heavy lifting we have to do number wise this summer, you wonder how much hes being considered a possible first team squad option.

I'd be surprised personally. Only remember him training with the first team when we had a lot of injuries. He's had a decent season with the 21s but I expect he's being looked at for a loan-out-then-sell scenario. Or just a squad filler as Francis suggested.

Hopefully is good enough but if not hope we can get some money for him

Let's really hope not because he's nowhere near the level. If he is, we're in trouble. I'd personally be amazed if he were.

Often think at his age if your not involved at the first team at his age you won’t be, he is though, curious they are offering him a new deal at his age, if he wasn’t seen in someways viable.

It’s a steep ladder for sure, I just think it’s odd at 20 he’s being kept on if not seen in somehow as adding value and playing a role.

You guys have summed Heath up well. A decent player to add experience and a wee bit of class to our u21s, but really League 1/2 standard

Jose seems like a likeable guy, getting all of these jobs
Someone created a “ Jose Baxter off to Malaysia” thread last week , it raised some bizarre comments from people. I commented:
“ It’s quite funny how little people know about our Club , many don’t appear to realise that he’s been a Coach within our Academy for a while , lately he’s been looking after our u16s, gaining more coaching experience and getting hie UEFA badges . Our 16s by the way have some of the most promising youngsters we’ve had for years, not down to Baxter as many have been at the club for years , but you don’t trust your potential future stars to someone without any ability. He was commentating on one of our u21games recently, very knowledgeable, I was half hoping he’d get promoted within the club , the fume level on GOT would have been immense.
Now he’s taking the chance to explore new horizons, get more experience, good on him.”

I genuinely meant he seems like a likeable guy. You don't hire or recommend people that aren't at least likeable, they clearly trusted him!

Just normal stuff at that level really to have a few older and more experienced heads helping out the younger lads in the under 21s, something we and most clubs always do.
