2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

Thats ok...but they need to be prepared to pay.

They curried their kecks at the price last season and I'd expect they'd do the same this summer.

Bear in mind they've got massive on rebuild on so ain't dropping 65-70 mil on one player, that's even if they getting into the CL.
Supposedly that’s exactly what they’re doing with Cunha, no?

One thing that's probably worth noting with Branthwaite is this is the last summer that he's going to be seen as a young prospect who can be moulded. By the time next summer comes round he'll be 24 and have been knocking around the top level for 5/6 years, if he hasn't broken into the England side and/or had a properly outstanding season domestically then you're likely to see a fairly significant reduction in what his market value would be seen as.

Or you could just keep him

There's no 'or' because I didn't say we should sell him. I just commented on the sort of fees you might get if you did.

There is nothing to suggest he won’t be outstanding next year, and I’m sure England caps will follow.

Kilman went for £40 million and has never looked half the player.

I'm not saying he won't be outstanding either. I'm just saying the difference between what you can expect to get for a 21 year old prodigy after a breakthrough year and what you get for a 24 year old if they haven't pushed on to a clearly different level is likely to be significant. There was talk of £80m etc last year, i'm just saying the only way he goes for anything like that in future is if he makes significant strides and breaks into the England side etc. I'm not saying he won't, just pointing out the potential change of scenario.

Not sure.
Martinez
Maguire
Yoro
Linderoth
De Ligt

5 CBs already, they paid 180m for just 3 of them.

Fair point but they all have their flaws….

Martinez - a midget and faux hard man
Maguire - head the size of a medicine ball and prone to comedy errors
Yoro - still very young and looks like the donkey from Shrek
Lindelof - don’t rate him at all, too slow for the premier league
De Ligt - injury prone and you have to wonder why Bayern were keen to get rid
