I think we’ve seen enough of him under a few managers to see he’s a good defender but a below average attacker. If we had a good option on the right when attacking it would be less of an issue. I think we need a good attacking left back or right back to add a bit of width and quality from out wide.

He's been alright under Moyes but playing VERY well is a bit heavy for me.

He's still absolutely useless going forward though and we should be looking for two new starting full backs.

Yeah I don’t get this idea that he’s been great at all. He’s been better but the bar was very low earlier in the season. He’s just been fine I think.

Proper old fasioned defender, and pretty good at it....most of the time.

Can switch off and does not seem to communicate well with team mates.

Shocking going forward.

Yes, first choice LB is pretty far down on the priority list for me, at least for this summer.

Disagree with this. We need to have a new right and left back. Should be top of our priorities. It has caused issues across the pitch and teams can be pretty confident they’re not going to have much trouble down the flanks. 1 assist in over 100 games isn’t going to get us far unfortunately.

Given the work to do on the squad, I agree. We probably do need at least one other player that can play LB, however, with Young on the move.

All take precedence imo, even if they are depth signings (they still cost money).

This team can get in the top half with one more year of Mykolenko.

Seems a nice guy and he has improved no doubt. When you see us play other teams and their fullbacks bomb forward carrying a threat you realise what we’re missing though.
Be very surprised if he’s first choice next season.

Feels like we have a whole team of squad players. Apart from keepers, a squad player should be challenging for a spot, not just making up the numbers.

Plus i kno only one game but when you look at the match esp first half could see the wingers pushing into the middle to create space for the fb. I get reasons why not to just go crazy paying alot of money in postions like fb when we have others id get first but still a key postion

True but we have no backup lb now i agree with what you have said is why the loan market is so important that we take advantage from. Id be shocked if the gk backup was not fabianski it honest on a free. The promote a youth team gk.
