2024/25 David Moyes

Moyes clearly loves the club…came back saw the cluster fcuk we’ve become and thought no this isn’t on.

He saw turn out today and relegation coach meetings and thought if this club gets successful it’s limitless.

Likely just a reminder to owners what they have at their fingers!

Rather than a demand for backing. Kinnear will know we need players and backing with so many leaving or likely to

Seems like he’s a bit more ease with the club and history unlike first time around when they say he came in was day zero as far as he was concerned.
Definitely
I think he feels like he’s earned it now at this stage in his career especially after winning a trophy with West Ham

Also don’t forget his entire first spell he was under Kenwright desperately trying to sell all our best talent. Moyes has watched us under Martinez, Koeman, Silva, Ancelotti, Allardyce throwing money around like crazy and nobody ever bettering his fourth place finish, even one of the best managers the world has ever seen.

He’ll be wondering what’s possible with him in charge, a proper budget, a state of the art stadium and us fans right behind him and I bet he’ll back himself to get us back in Europe very quickly (as much as he’ll give slow and steady building soundbytes).

Still have huge worries about what kind of player he wants to target, and if he will be thinking with too much short-termism which results in us repeating the mistakes of the past, in such a vital summer rebuild.

That said, done a fantastic job since he has come in, he does love the club, and even if i disagree with some of the things he does, you know it is all with good intentions.

A good man, and a football man, he is not the future for me, but he is certainly the bridge we needed, and need for a little bit longer i'd say now.

More concerned with his transfer targets as someone said. I would rather someone else 'build' the team. I think he is a solid coach.
I dunno. If you look at the players he tried to sign for West Ham, like Tarkowski, Raphinha, Onana and McTominay, he clearly still knows what it takes to be a good player at the top level.

…I thought his post-match comment was a bit barbed.

Suggested to me he was saying ‘you need to realise how big this club is’. I know posters are indifferent to these owners attending but it’s important they have some ties to the place, to understand it.
Indeed. In one of his post-match interviews, he referenced the fact that so many Everton fans took to the streets of north Liverpool to support their team yesterday, despite us not having had much at all to shout about in recent decades. I would estimate that at least 65,000 blues were in Walton. He was basically saying "imagine how blue this city would be if we won a trophy." and that the potential of our club is limitless. As in the 1980s, all we need is one trophy to light the touch paper. It was a gentle reminder to the owners, who to be fair have been brilliant thus far.
