Suggested to me he was saying ‘you need to realise how big this club is’. I know posters are indifferent to these owners attending but it’s important they have some ties to the place, to understand it.

I'm not sure I agree that Moyes was talking about spending when he said "I hope the owners are seeing what they should today." I think he was genuinely shocked and disappointed that they didn't show up and was expressing that passive-aggressively.

Do we have confirmation that they are in Rome? Shocking if so.

When it comes to making money, they're not stupid, so surely they realize that the earnings potential of Everton dwarfs that of Roma. Putting aside the fact that merely showing up is important on a basic messaging level, you would think they'd show a lot more interest in the club that's going to make them more dough.

I’ve no idea. I don’t know how regularly they attend Roma games.
It seems like an odd decision not to be at Goodison for such a historic occasion but hey ho.

They don't care about the club as such. They care about making money from it. That's the modern game for you.

I don't mind them not being there, I want the cameras focussing on the ex players in the crowd today not the owners.
