I am happy it's sponsored by a local business that's hoping to go global. I would rather them than any middle east state sponsored company with blood on their hands and if you're having a problem with it having a dick in the name your a 12 year old boy.
We’ve lots in common: a local operation trying to go global.

It’s all a confected outrage. Plenty of the same people would have embraced an oil state defacing the stadium.

These lawyers just aren’t murderously rich or autocratic enough for them.

It’s not temporary the same way the Reebok, the echo arena, the Brittania weren’t temporary. Stoke fans still call it the Brit ffs they don’t call it the Bet 365.

The first name is always crucia
l hence why Spurs have kept it a neutral name for so long until they get the deal they want. For a paltry 5 mill a season we should have done the same.

As a club we don’t have much currently but we had an authenticity that others simply didn’t. That’s now been sold for 5 mill a season. Even Brighton managed a better branding opportunity with the Amex.

The Etihad
The Emirates
The Allianz
The Amex

All temporary names?

Do people call it the Wanda Metropolitano or the Riyadh air Metropolitano?

As I said, trophies will be the only antidote to this for me because if we continue to have decades of being utterly rubbish then what was the point in selling off our authenticity.

The bolded bits above are what is crucial.
The TV and media call it the Bet 365 because that's its Official name, but as you say most Stoke fans still know it as The Brit
Ever since it was proposed and all the way through the build, most Everton fans have called this Bramley Moore. Few people other than TV and Media have ever even referred to it as Everton Stadium .
Tv and Media will obviously refer to it as Hill Dickinson as that's its Official name but to a vast majority of Evertonians it will always be Bramley Moore 🤷‍♂️

Anywhere confirmed it’s just a “paltry 5m a season”? which is only 0.9m less than Arsenal get a season. Arsenal being a club finishing in the top 2/3 a season and in Europe every year.

Also Brighton’s branding deal with Amex is £8m a year which is both shirt and naming. I’d suggest ours is significantly better than that overall.

Emirates also pay Arsenal 50 million per season for the shirt sponsor.

But even that is problematic due to slavery. Everton Stadium is what it actually is - and the only thing problematic about that is our crap players play in it.

Can’t believe people are being so ok about it. I’d support the club paying 10 mill a season not to have that name, it’s an absolutely ridiculous name for a stadium.

I don’t think people understand this will be in the history books for ever. Wtf were they thinking? Other fanbases would be protesting this deal.

I didn’t think there’d be a worse naming rights deal than the sports direct arena then this showed up.
I can't believe grown men are losing their heads completely because the club have sold stadium naming rights (or because of the word dick in the name, I'm getting lost).

Some of them worshipped Dyche though, that is even more bizarre thing.

Only to woke people who haven't got a scoobies about different eras and changing times. Minority.

Surely you can understand why some people might feel a bit of unease with having a name associated with the slave trade??

Would you be happy if someone sponsored the stadium and called it the Sir Jimmy Savile Stadium?? And would you call the people who disagree with that name as " woke " ?

I call it that after the dock on which it's built, not in any way as a 'tribute' to the man.
The Earl of Sandwich was involved in slavery, it doesn't stop me having a butty. 🤷‍♂️

As I said: I wouldn’t touch old names. Hence, sandwich. Hence Bramley-Moore Dock. I’ll call the stadium what it is: Everton Stadium. What it’s built on is here nor there.

The dock was named after a man a mayor of Liverpool who raised money for local hospitals and helped expand Liverpool docks, so by that reckoning he was also a do gooder in a time when slavery was more agreeable and more of a norm than these days. Different era, different ideals. I got a finger off some dope when all I am trying to point out is we live in a totally different society to 150 years ago
