I'm sorry kev, but these matters ARE important.

It's about identity.

I really dont give a flying one about how much cash the embarrassing donkeys who own this club got for this naming rights deal.

The image we've been saddled with is a no mark club stadium name.

No matter what all the club flunkies and their media lap dogs tell you, this is a dark day in the history of this football club.

We've just gone from GOODISON PARK to...that.

No one can polish that turd.

I said I'm upset and I mean it too.

Melt.

I'm good with it. I quite like the parochialism of the name. I really like the fact that we've done a deal with a Liverpool based company. I'm relieved that we've not sold our soul to a multinational corporation.

Hill Dickinson aren't some average law firm. They're a huge company. They say on their website "Our clients include multinational companies, major corporations, the NHS, UK plcs, UK and foreign banks, financial institutions, public sector bodies, investors, educational establishments, institutions, private individuals and professional bodies." OK I grant you, they represent some ghastly clients, that's how they make their money.

As for the terms of the deal, I've got no worries. We won't have given them the contract out of sentiment, we'll have done it because it makes commercial sense. And part of what makes it a good deal is that it's a commercial relationship that we can see remaining in place for many years to come.

I guess it's a bit crap, but not like any of us will call it that. It's always going to be 'Bramley Moore' to me. That's the history of the place, it's where it is and that's always what it is. Probably the most anoying thing will be folk like Jamie Caragher on sky sports calling it Hill Dickinson Stadium...him knowing it winds us up a little bit. But If it's what is required to compete so be it, it's just a name and it won't be the one I ever use.

At the end of the day, you can make fun of any teams ground with a bit of word play. Analfield being one. What was stopping other teams calling Bramley Moore Dock- Bramley Moore C*@k. Lets just call this the HD stadium and get on with it

Not a fan of the name, at all. Just going to keep calling it Bramley Moore - feels truer to the club's identity.

Hill Dicks' turnover is £145m. A huge company they ain't. They're not even a huge law firm - just in the top 50 on turnover.

Doesn't mean that they ain't paying a princely sum for naming rights, but it's a weird flex.
