Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

So, if today's events and rumours are to be believed, the solution to us being dreadful is, checks notes, re-signing all of our dreadful, aged, and overpaid players. What a day.

P.S. I can't believe how many people have rocked up on here to say it's a good idea. I guarantee that the very same people will respond to any criticism of Moyes with the statement "what was he supposed to do, it's the players".

We’ve been relegation fodder Witt mainly crap players for 3 years. We need at least 5 starters and I will be pissed if we don’t get them

Starters wise it depends on O'Brien staying at RB.

RB
CM
RW
ACM =Alcaraz
CF

Is that what you have as well?

Quite frankly, its pathetic.

He was quoted as saying something like "we need top players for a top stadium"

Clearly some were supposedly extending are top players in his eyes.

This is probably why we may end up having to renew some contracts, unfortunately some people think we can go and buy a new 11 starters and let everyone else go. It will all be about what Moyes wants to prioritise.
I can take renewing a couple of contracts if it means we can spend bigger on a forward.

Same trick, every year, and you still fall for it.

Which contracts would you renew, then? It's easy to sound all reasonable with generalisations, so let's hear the specifics.

Full backs need to be attacking

Signing all the old guard up tells me one thing, ambition is out of the window and incomings for actual money will be at an absolute minimum because we are still skint.

The same word has been used by both Kinnear and Moyes now…’unprecedented’ when referring to our transfer business this summer. I’m wondering if they’re both panicking now so we’ll see more of these drip thread stories around players being extended. I hope not. I don’t mind some staying as backup for back up salaries and then bring in three or four quality first team signings.

That does my head in. Fair enough if you’re a leader and contributing on the pitch, but there’s no room for leaders who don’t contribute on the pitch, that’s what the management and coaching team are there for. Lead through playing well not shouting, back slapping and clapping in the dressing room,
He said in some capacity. It didn't sound like he'll be playing.
