They definitely appear to be serious movers and shakers.

Apparently handing contracts to a 39 year old Ashley Young and the hopeless DCL.

If that doesn't fil you with hope for the future and tell you that we are moving forward I don't know what will?

Did I mention they hired a manager we sacked a decade ago as well?

Ambition, Friedkin is your name.

Think youre being harsh, if I'm honest.

We've got a huge job this summer to replace everyone, if we let everyone go.

The reality is, Strikers dont come cheap, and we dont have an i finite pit of money. When revenues increase next summer after 12 months of BMD, then we can start to look further than Ashley Young.

Not sure what kind of miracles youre expecting, but is it really as bad as youre making out?

The only reason anyone is alright with having two pensioners at full back is because we have hardly seen them this year.

They can't be relied on and everyone will remember that when we see them both start a match and are getting legged everywhere by fellas in there 20s.

There are plenty of players under 30 we can sign on a free for a back up full back role. There's absolutely no decent reason for this tbh.

It's May 16th and we are signing our back up full backs who have a combined age of 97. What conclusions should we draw instead oh enlightened one?

If you don't see the writing on the wall for this summer I don't know what to tell you.

….Moyes said he doesn’t want ‘major upheaval’, suggesting it’s not possible to re-build in an instant. Presume that’s what he’s told the owners.

Clearly the two RBs are a major influence on the club and the players, the Manager doesn’t want to lose that input.

It's far too early to make any sort of judgement on the summer but I'd have to be honest and say it genuinely hadn't even occurred to me as a possibility that we would offer new contracts to both Young and Coleman. I've said numerous times that we'd have to be conscious of not expecting too much and that a number of the out of contract players would no doubt be asked to stay, but I think it's fair to say these 2 being retained doesn't exactly send out a particularly exciting message to begin with.

I'm not surprised he doesn't want a major upheaval as that would lead to increased expectations.

No, it's far easier to play the "Knifes to a gunfight" game for Old David.

He's not my cup of tea.

But what are we meant to do? Get left with 8 players and spend less to cover more?

It just makes practical sense. They're not starring are they?

For me; you can start making moves in the right direction when youre being run efficiently.

I agree its too early to judge, but the early signs seems positive. Quiet in the background whilst things are being done.

Not going in making huge waves, and assessing is fine. Id be totally surprised if Seamus Coleman doesn't retire.

We will take him on loan again and the typical happy clappers will be out calling people bedwetters for wanting better than this.
I can't see any logical reason for keeping any of these players. Just looks like Moyes being too lazy to bother integrating anyone new into the team and bringing all those old sayings like 'we'll go with what we've got' forward 15 years.

Some of you are living in cloud cuckoo land of you genuinely think we can overhaul this squad in one window. It would cost far to much.

We have to be pragmatic and spend wisely. Look what happened the last time we blew £500m, it didn't end well. So yeah I'm happy we take it step by step and if that means retaining some of the current players but also Improving I'm fine with that.

These things take a little time, Chelsea spent over £1bn in a short amount of time and it hasn't really improved them, in fact it's made them worse...
