Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

If young starts one league game next season then our recruitment will have failed massively
Tbh, I think it's a sensible move. There will be one or two where he will start, that's probably because they are early entry cup games or due to first starters injuries.

We all know we can't sweep out every position and replace with new signings. Priority comes first. And if RB or RWB is a priority, then who knows.. maybe Paterson will be sold or given the first team slot. Personally, I think we will go for a new RB, but who knows. But that position defo needs strengthening

Not bothered about Young. He’s on very little. He can cover a number of positions. He was playing great early this season too - 3 assists, 1 goal isn’t to be sniffed at. You can’t get a whole new squad in one window, so keeping a few old heads around makes sense in the interim. He hasn’t started under Moyes, so not sure why people are panicking like he’s now going to be first name on the team sheet.

Agree with this. Coleman will likely retire and patterson is probably not going to cut it with us. If Obrien stays RB then Young is the cover. More pressing areas to fill.

He actually started away at Fulham last weekend and had a solid game.

If he’s still up to it physically I’m not against him as a backup. Must be a fantastic influence in the dressing room as well.

Depending on which source you want to believe he's on anything between £40k and £80k a week. Whilst he's not one of our higher earners, he's certainly not on "very little". He will also be 40 years old next season.
