The Oldies Thread

Remember the hysteria over these a few years back? My ex was a Chef at a Toby Carvery, the day they were banned he had a letter from Head Office to destroy them! They all ended up in my freezer , about 50 of them, every day off he had he would cook us one with a pepper sauce and chips.

….no, why were they banned?

….not totally sure about biscuits, just a vague recollection they might have been given in the early ‘60s.
They were,I can even remember Empire Day when everyone who was in the Boys Brigade,Scouts etc went into school in their uniform. Funny how someone mentioning school milk triggers other memories.

I was a flying Prefect in my Senior School with a sewn on badge - My mum was so proud - I wasn't got attacked many times by scruffy kids in the lower years mainly the Bartons ..... I was in the 5th year so instead of taking them to the headmaster - just smacked their heads together as the cane had just been banned -
That badge made any prefect a target ......
