Homepage Article Goodison Park to become the permanent home of Everton Women

The park end will eventually become the Ladies "Main stand". Pitch will be turned side on and the current main stand and bullens will be demolished/redeveloped. Will happen over a few years. That's what i have heard. Makes sense in that the park end is a newer stand with better concourses and hospitality.
Hearing the pitch switch to side on is being considered too mate, reckon that’s got legs. One of my mates got told this on a stadium tour earlier this week.
cos the stadium is crap and only holds just over 2k
Spot on mate, Wally hall park can’t really be called a stadium, there’s only one side that’s covered, it’s totally not fit for purpose.

Everton women and the fans deserve better, and there ain’t much better than Goodison.

It’s a brilliant call from TFG.

My daughter now wants to go watch the ladies next season at Goodison, she has never ever asked before.

She did have a season ticket under Martinez for a season or 2, and loves Goodison.
We forget how progressive the game has become and how much a sausage fest goodison was for such a long time, my own daughter refused to go cos she didn’t like the gt5 vibes, I should have known better and obviously that’s like throwing a child into Normandy in some games so it’s on me… but if the ground is home to the ladies. I hope it encourages more ladies to attend. It’s very obvious most lads HATE women’s footy, and that’s fine, I’d watch two flies playing footy if there as a choice and more footy around the city is always a good thing.

I'm confident that the womans team could easily double its attendance tomorrow but even then that's still just 5k. How many do you think will regularly go? For what its worth I'd happily attend match's at Goodison for the woman's team but I'm not sure how many others will. I just don't want to see the place become a massive empty shell.

I'm in favour of keeping Goodison for the Everton Women but I think I may ask for the £100 back that I paid to have my seat sent to me as my Goodison keepsake.

I've never been to a women's match, got zero interest in it. But....

If that inspires more young girls to want to play football and play at Goodison, it's a positive.
If it gives people who have never been to Goodison, an opportunity, it's a positive.
If it gives the women's league and youth teams a chance to grow, it's a positive.
If we can fiddle the books with it, it's a positive haha.

My son is 2 and has been on the tours twice, one of which, we played on the pitch for 30 mins. I haven't taken him a game yet, as I can't imagine having to leave 10 mins in, when he's wanting to run round or creating etc. But I'd happily trial him at the women's game, less people, less noise, less pressure. Then I'll take him a few times before he finally goes to Bramley Moore. Everyone wins (except my son, who's got to watch Everton)
Child abuse this.

This is what it means and why it’s bloody brilliant.

My 11yo daughter’s reaction was similar, a few less tears, but she’s overjoyed the girls are getting Goodison.

She has been lucky enough to be the mascot for the women at wally hall park, and the players and staff were amazing with her, the fans are great, it was a brilliant day, and everything would have be even better at GP.

She’s asked can we go to games next season or even get a season ticket for the women, I’m very tempted and will definitely be going to a few women’s games next season.

I think it’s a game changer for Everton women and the women’s games as a whole.

it's longer term though, those young girls playing football now, are creating families who will follow football if they don't already and having the access to watch the games like that will naturally increase the fanbase.

Why…its still a nice keep sake. Goodison going to re-designed so lot of older seats will naturally bechanged
It was initially thought to be a keepsake of a stadium which no longer exists though, it is a bit different if the stadium is still going to be there. I would guess that my seat isn't literally the same piece of plastic as when I first sat there, it's likely been replaced at least once. Any appeal of buying it would have been for the memory of that space rather than the physical seat itself (which at the back of GT3 i've barely sat on), it's a fair point that if you can actually just go back and sit in that space again whenever you want the keepsake becomes a little less special.
