Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Think there is far better value on the continent. At 30 million plus the wage he'll want it's too much of a gamble. He's not outstandingly quick or dominant in the air and doesn't create his own chances.

…yes, that’s pretty much my view too. He’s combative and competitive but he didn’t appear to worry Branthwaite and O’Brien recently. I’d actually prefer us to look elsewhere but we’ll see.

His style reminds me of James beattie

Yes - he does. I like the idea of him being a potential classic Everton number 9 and he is a handful, but with 12 goals and 0 assists there feels a bit of unwarranted hype around him and there must be better value on the market. There are lots of forwards in the Prem this season with more goal involvements who don't seem to get anywhere near the same recognition.

Soucek would be a great Doucoure replacement as a midfielder who doesn't actually do anything in the middle of the field but run a bit but who will score a few goals which will make people think he's super important to the team when really his presence is hugely limiting.

Nailed it one.

wouldn’t be fit to clean Fellaini or Cahill boots before people start comparing either of those two galoots to the main men.

Soucek is the kind of short sighted transfer mistake we’ve made far far too often for many years now. If they spend decent money on him then it’s different owners, different board, same old story.
Maybe its an experience and leadership thing as well as the goals he may bring. Gueye, Doucoure, Young, Harrison, Keane could all be leaving from our starting 11 last weekend. To be honest I hope they do bar Gueye. If the price is right then it may not be as bad as you think. Cant see Westham allowing him go on the cheap though...

Not going to lie. I wouldn’t be happy with this one at all.

Well I've heard a rumour (and I will confess that it is just a rumour) that we are definitely not taking up a deal on Alcaraz.

Factor in Doucoure on ToffeeTV yesterday saying he is getting a new deal and the noises from West Ham about Soucek, we can see why.

Would be an absolute disgrace that, and would be up there with the very worst decisions the club have ever made.

So after 30 + years of shambolic decisions this club has made, bringing in a player who's scored 9 in 33 this season is up there with the worst?

Yes, 100%. When combined with keeping Doucoure and potentially letting Alcaraz go.

Doucoure limits the way we play. Soucek is on the decline and would also limit the way we play. If we want to improve, we need to invest in better footballers with, I'm sorry to say, good sell-on values if we are to progress AND stay on the right side of PSR or whatever replaces it.

It would be so, so poor. What are your thoughts on Beto?

I must watch the interview again,as far as I remember he didn't say he'd been offered a new deal
