Old Photos Of Where You Live

We had these in Abingdon Road in Walton, demolished in the 1970's abouts.
They were all over the city, all over the country actually.
The Ma in Law...3 kids under 5...was moved into 1 in Speke opposite the metal box in 1951, she said compared from where she was living, she'd never seen such 'luxury'
They were slowly disappearing in the 60s, so slow, I never even noticed it when I was a kid.
iirc, The Belle Vale ones were still there into the 80s

I lived in a prefab for the first 11 years of my life (1954-1965) Remember them fondly despite scraping the frost off the inside of the windows in winter  One particular memory is the gas fridge.
It was always my job to relight the pilot light if it blew out, as my arms were thin enough to reach underneath with a lit rolled up sheet of newspaper.
H&S my a&se!
