I remember you calling Martinez the ‘Catalan clown’ and urging him to get out of the club
You defo don't remember that correctly mate. Dave has been vehemently pro Martinez every step of the way, even when the guy didn't deserve it! Dave and I butted head many a time back then!🤣

Martinez showed Moyes first time of asking how you get players to play football on the deck.
He did indeed. However, I think most would agree that he got a very solid Moyes squad playing some great football but was completely incapable of maintaining their defensive responsibilities. Shame we couldn’t have had a hybrid mixture of both styles. Admittedly, will always have a soft spot for him.

The idea defending corners isn't part of the game, in the English Premier League, turned me against him after defending him a lot. Such a shame, would've been great if there was even a slightly more pragmatic approach

He was an ideologue - inflexible and uncompromising. And that was the end of him at Everton.

His team - largely, but not completely, built by Moyes - played sensational attacking football for a season and then fell off a cliff. Moyes is a better manager because he is more pragmatic. But that one season was better than any Moyes's teams gave us in 11 years.
