See Moyes mentioned the return of former managers coming back to Goodison, he may have meant this week rather than this game itself, but with Madrid and Fulham playing Saturday, can’t see Dyche, Benitez or Walker being there, that only really leaves. Royle and Martinez. Any thoughts on who else it could be?

I'm going but if you want to say goodbye and haven't got a ticket get your arse up there we've all got memories especially with Loved ones we've lost...get your arses up there nothing was said about the gobshites across the park.. outside or inside this old lady can be appreciated...
I’m not sure she’s a lady mate, she’s had tonnes of men inside her over the years

I honestly feel like I'm in denial over leaving Goodison. Like many others, Goodison represents many memories of my early childhood to now, old friends, and to family members long gone. Goodison has just always been there. A mainstay. The one sure in life.

I don't feel anything right now, although I can sense this small feeling of dread and sadness deep down in the pit of my stomach as the last game approaches. I don't think it will really hit me for weeks or months yet. I'm sure I'm not alone.

It’s certainly not hit that a week today will be the last ever hustle and bustle, match day at Goodison.

It certainly going to be missed and Bramley Moore ilhas got a lot to live up to.

Could have worked with the council to turn Stanley park into one big fan zone and encouraged Evertonians , far and wide, to attend . Great for the city too.
The RS parade will bring in £ millions. Hotels well sold out.
Missed a trick here.
As painful at is to say it, we don’t have the pull to make it worthwhile. Once the grounds full we’d only get a few hundred at most to travel and visit the park.
I drove past a field yesterday on a non Matchday and there were three coaches with more pulling up, and a couple of hundred at least milling around, and the stalls selling stuff, that wouldn’t happen at our ground.
This is what the new ground should be aiming for.

Now that would be something wheeling benitez out 😂😂

I have a similar conversation with my wife. I'm quite a stoic person (some may say cold or emotionless), however I can already feel the emotions brewing for Sunday.

The memories of going as a child with my ol' man and family; the decades of routine; the brilliant friends I've made along the way, and some we've also lost.

It's all going to be over, and whilst I am really looking forward to BMD, I have a feeling it will never be akin to Goodison. A bit like your first love...

I am going to go down on Saturday and have a wonder around to take it all, before the hustle and bustle of Sunday. On Sunday, I will be there nice and early.

I love the new gaff, moreso after going to the 2nd test event and I'm excited for the future.

I just know after Saturday I'm going to be hit with multiple levels of closure all in one go. It'll be like saying goodbye to my late mam and dad, grandparents, and late aunties and uncles all over again. I know I wont be the only one feeling that way but in many ways Goodison is an extremely personal place. I think we all have our own personal version of Goodison that only exists inside of us.

Anyway, enough soppiness...

….have to say, I have a few safety concerns next week, not least because they involve my son.

Like many, he’s ticketless for the game but insists on going to soak up the atmosphere, watch the game in Goodison boozer then try and get in when gates open. I’m sure there’s thousands thinking the same but stadiums have crowd limits for a reason and we know how problematic crowd surges can be.

Probably being over protective but I’m trying to convince him not to bother attempting to get in and I hope the club are fully aware of this issue.
It's the trying to get in that'll ruin it, and possibly even lead to heavier handed policing for future Everton games and harsher rules around which games can be played at what times.

Also, anyone could allow themselves to be swept up with the crowd and get in...

…could be all types trying to get in and not just Evertonians. Hope the club realise this as a potential safety issue.
