2024/25 Beto

We signed 7 last summer, With no money. I don’t think we will sign 11 obviously, but 8 or 9 should easily be doable.
How many walked in to replace players in the first 11?

Ndiaye?

O'Brien made his way into the right back position over young eventually but out of those 7 players we signed how many replaced starting players?

It's highly unlikely we revolutionize this first eleven and replace more than half of the players in it that are "Average" in a single summer.

Well Harrison was a new loan and plays, Mangala played a lot prior to injury. Lindstrom played as well, so yes not all regular starters but all played. Think it’s common knowledge we need at least 4 players walking into the first 11. Some will say 5 or 6

And we're any of them better than "Average"?

I'd suggest they weren't and finding players to walk in and immediately upgrade every position is a lot harder than you're making out.

I'm not disagreeing we need upgrades across the pitch I just don't expect major upgrades that will render the likes of Beto irrelevant and useless here

It’s very hard when you don’t have a pot to piss in. The point was how many players we signed not the quality, think we all know the quality was poor, the talk is we have money now and it shouldn’t be that difficult to upgrade. Myko, garner, doucoure, Harrison/mcneil and Beto/dcl

Some trying to get rid of a functioning Beto, when we still have Young and Keane starting.
We need to add to the squad not deplete it.
Come on, functioning is pushing it, he can't control the ball or pass the ball. Every time we get the ball forward we need to keep it away from him or it simply comes back.
That's nothing new is it ?

Mental isn't it. Harrison on the right when he'd be better off on the left. Alcaraz on the left when he'd be better off in the middle. Doucoure in the middle when he'd be better off on the bench.
Then you've got some claiming that Beto's playing in this all-attacking Moyes side so it's not fair to compare his goals record against anyone who had to play under Dyche.

Doucouré suits our other strikers where we just cross balls at them and hope something falls to them. Look at our goal today coming from a long throw and Doucouré jumping on the bounce to lay it off.

This isn't what Beto wants for service. He needs someone to thread him a through ball and that isn't Doucouré.

Functioning in that the lad knows where the net is. Without his goals this season, we would have been cooked. Good luck with getting s complete all round world class PL striker for 20 mi
