The answer to that is we have nobody to replace him, this isnt because he is good but more that the squad is threadbare and very short on quality.
We are playing the likes of Doucoure Young Harrison because we dont have anyone else.
A huge summer coming up, the likes of Doucoure can be replaced in a heartbeat, he is in the side for his 'legs' but the fact is he is the biggest culprit for us needing to win the ball back again.
I wasn't really asking as to the reason why we need to replace him mate, more how do we pivot away from what we've created and move on.
For example i think its a dilemma Moyes may face today, is say Charly a better footballer then Doucoure - sure - are we more likely to get a result today with Doucore starting ahead of Charly - probably - because Doucoure enables two lines.
Its that pivot of how we move on - not why. You can go out and you can buy a Soucek a similar, pressing, aesthetic, physical enabler who can flood both lines and really you are just swapping a similar player for another.
Or you commit to a Charly or Illy or a go out and get yourself a creative no 10 or second striker. Or maybe even flip to a 4-3-3 etc.
We might be bad, but he has been one of our most influential players faults and all and he defo influences our results - so we need to plan to pivot away from needing what he brings and how..........?
