2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

If only there was somewhere for a rumble…

In fairness, he's not going to go on a podcast and say "do you know what? I have the first touch of a JCB, please reduce my wages"

But if he thinks he can get more than he's on now elsewhere then go for it.

I wouldn't give him the same wages he's on now nevermind an increase. Have heard his kids are in an international school in Dubai already so I'm expecting him to join the legendary Saudi league

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, especially as Moyes didn't exactly have a go at him regarding the comments Doucoure made.

In fact, I'd be shocked if he isn't in the starting 11

Moyes put a very positive spin on his comments mate- "Isn't it great that all the players want to stay" - he's using him for the rest of year at least and he didn't sound like a man who "from point of view no" - wasn't half thinking about offering him a new deal.

Surprised as he usually runs a tight ship.

Lets see.

He also commented on Doucoure"s age basically as a reason he isn't worth the money. As long as Doucoure is under contract he should do his job, and our squad is pretty threadbare.

He may use him and it’s very unlikely he stays imo, but you never know. The club/moyes offered gana the extra year and he’s thinking about it. They haven’t offered doucoure one

He will play out the last games of this season, he has to as he is a better option than anything else we have, that is more a reflection on how mediocre the squad is rather than his ability. He is bang average and he is aging in footballing terms. He isn’t worth the money he is on at present and I can’t imagine we are going to give him a pay rise.
It does strike me as a bit odd that he has gone public, I didn’t think that was his style. However he has done it and Everton Football Club have a problem, we cannot allow a player who is under contract to start negotiating his contract in the public domain, this is another test for the new regime.
If we could get a younger more productive second striker and pay him £40,000 less per week we would probably in profit over the course of a three year period.
