Final game at Goodison - confirmed Sunday 18 May, 12PM

Why is it dangerous mate ? I have been in Goodison with 63 thousand for a couple of night games nobody got killed.
It is a momentus day in our history fans want to be part of it in any way possible.
I had to let my season ticket go a few years ago for family reasons but still attend many matches but I can't get a sniff of one for this game.
It is 61 years since I first walked into Goodison so I will be by the ground on Sunday week and if that delays you getting home for your tea well tough.

Well said

By the time people have gone and bought a drink and returned to their seat the show will be over.

See Above. They should have allowed a bit of leeway. The end of season players parade usually takes up half an hour. Yet this will be for that too, they are encouraging to gets drinks, watch a show and say goodbye to Goodison forever. It's the usual Everton balls up.
I can't see the ref blowing the whistle and immediately the show starts. The lap of "appreciation" usually takes some time to get started. So surely putting a show together will delay things. It's not a quick task getting Osman and Hibbert into the Mr Testicles and Changy outfits.

Kitbag etc have launched it. It looks like a polo shirt.

An extra £60 for a programme, a scarf and a box with some paper for the collector's edition. You'd want collecting yourself paying that.

I get the point he’s making. I don’t think he’s saying you’re going to deliberately cause trouble, just that a load of ticketless fans being there causes trouble itself, regardless of intent. I’m not saying don’t go, but fact is it’s true that the experience of match going fans with tickets is likely to be impacted if there’s a large amount of ticketless fans turning up too. You can of course say you don’t care about that, but I don’t really think there’s any argument that it’s a genuine point.
But most fans without tickets will just walk around ground a bit, perhaps go to chippy and go to pub. It's more likely people with tickets are going to cause problems. The reason why roads are packed round GP has nothing to do with ticketless fans and everything to do with G4S bellends and people who are more interested in going pub before hand, than watching start of game. Our stewards were continually voted best in country before those G4S bellends were employed by Kenwright because he was scared fans would attack him. If fans get in early, it shouldn't be a problem, it will be if clowns think they are gonna get there 10 minutes before kick off and get in easily.

There will be a 15 min interval to set up the stage after the game has finished, then an hour show. So hopefully that will help with people getting drinks etc.

Extra stewards and police will be around to make sure no one tries to get into the ground that shouldn't, so obviously if you want to leave early, you will be let out singularly through where the police will be to prevent others coming in. They will also be hot on making sure no one sneaks through the turnstiles without a ticket.

There should be something akin to what happens in an Olympic closing ceremony - where the mayor of the outgoing host city hands over the flag to the mayor of the next host city. But in this case a large flag bearing our crest can be passed from whoever keeps Goodison ticking over on a daily basis to… Colin Chong?

That's a weird take.

As I said, i'm not being critical of the idea, but it seems like you're just completely misunderstanding what was being said to be honest. If 60,000 are around the ground then there'll be problems, it's just a fact. It doesn't mean anyone's deliberately causing problems or doing anything wrong or whatever (although some blatantly will), it's just that loads of extra people knocking around is going to make everything a bit slower, mean there's more scope for issues etc. Some people with tickets probably are going to turn up fairly close to kick off, because they should be able to really, and probably normally do, and may well be travelling from miles away for a kick off at an utterly stupid time so literally couldn't get there any sooner. I'm not quite sure why they must be a clown but someone who's planning to stand outside the ground drinking a crate of stella 'to say goodbye' isn't, but there we go.

It's not a big deal to me, it is what it is and it won't be the first or last time it happens, but just refusing to accept that loads of ticketless fans being around increases the chances of problems occurring is daft in my opinion.

Would be nice to have a moment where our home officially changes.

What are those flags on the Bullens? Is one of them an Everton one?

If so, they should take it down and transfer it to Bramley Moore.

Or maybe just have a blue smoke relay down there.

From the O.S
<< Once the match has ended, supporters will be able to purchase food and drink – including alcohol – on Goodison’s concourses and return to their seats to enjoy the show. Consumption of alcohol will be permitted within the stadium bowl from the full-time whistle until bars close at 2.45pm.>>
That's barely an hour after the game o_O
After an hour of ROSSY'S voice and a parade of dead beat footballers like Drenthe etc you'll be screaming to get out and never return to Goodison

Its still a building site atm, not yet got safety certificate so that's a no - no
Hang on a sec, one off memorabilia shirt and whatnot released after the last game, and brand new stadium with screening/entertainment concourse also not finished in time to hand over the final league game?

You betcha that's the Everton way. Even in cahoots with local plod to warn fans, supporters, actual paying customers away.

Marvellous, most apt tribute to billy 'good times' there could be.
