2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

On Doucoure comments, Moyes says it is good that the players want to stay - they can see the club has a positive future. He adds "he is no spring chicken', which has to be taken into account. Moyes says decisions are being made behind closed doors on the contract situation.

“To be honest, I won’t readjust my salary to stay at the club. I’ve seen Mo Salah get a pay rise"

He's using Salah's new contract as a justification for demanding higher wages. If you can't see why that's problematic, then I'm not sure what else to say.

What's wrong with that?
He's not in a position to demand anything.
He said he wants same/more money.
The club have said no (by sounds of it).
It happens all the time.

Just because an opposition (RS) player got a pay rise doesn't automatically entitle Doucoure to one. Clearly, he views himself as being as crucial to Everton as Salah is to Liverpool, which is pretty delusional

Besides, players shouldn't be going on something like the 'Fozcast' to publicly demand better contracts or higher wages. It's embarrassing.

He’s a mercenary with a stinking attitude. We need a complete purge of this type of character in the dressing room, Moyes as we know doesn’t tolerate stuff like this.

There's nothing wrong with it.

It's completely mental, but there's nothing wrong with it.
