I’m actually a bigger Doucs fan than most but those are some tone deaf comments to make in public.

Wonder what someone like Branthwaite who out performs him every single game on probably half the wage makes of it.

Anyway, he’s set his stall out and that’s probably the end of it because I’m sure Moyes and the club will feel that our highest earners should be our best performers. The interesting part is whether anyone else is going to match or improve his salary since he won’t take less.

He's clearly off mate, those comments are made by a man with a future contract in the bag and a move lined up.

Yeah he surely has at least an offer that matches what he’s on now otherwise he’s just jumped out the plane without a parachute. Like I say I still quite like him but if he has that I’m happy for him to take it and go.

This is probably the final nail for him. Really clueless and demonstrates a complete lack of being in the real world. Age alone means there will be no pay rise. The vast majority, if not all of the fanbase, would want his wages at least to be halved. I personally wouldn't want him earning more than £30,000 grand a week and I think that's being more than generous. We are where we are as a club due to having players like Doucs who can barely control a ball. They then score goals to keep us up and think that we should be grateful. If they weren't so sh**e we wouldn't be fighting relegation in the first place. Players like Doucs need to move on, we can't have a team who don't even have the footballing basics in their skillest.
