Because Goodison is a nightmare at the best of times, pre and post match. Add thousands of people mindlessly standing around just because they want to be part of the occasion is beyond stupid ans dangerous. Its kopite behaviour and needs to be called out.
Why is it dangerous mate ? I have been in Goodison with 63 thousand for a couple of night games nobody got killed.
It is a momentus day in our history fans want to be part of it in any way possible.
I had to let my season ticket go a few years ago for family reasons but still attend many matches but I can't get a sniff of one for this game.
It is 61 years since I first walked into Goodison so I will be by the ground on Sunday week and if that delays you getting home for your tea well tough.

There is a little bit of revisionism that goes on about how great things were back in the old days.
‘The league isn’t competitive anymore, it’s all sanitised and predictable’..

Well guess what, you could predict what teams were likely to challenge for the title before the Premier league started too.

You would also have crowds of 14,000, racism in the stands and violence outside the ground. Much of the football was agricultural and TV coverage minimal.

I’ve always loved football, Everton and Goodison, but I’m realistic about it.
It's the same fayre on the pitch, but we pay top dollar for the privilege.
And maybe promoted teams, without checking, could normally manage more than one season buy just purchasing a steady older CB.

So much moaning online about the KO time, the amount of time after the game, the potential entertainment.

Can't we all just celebrate the fact that the club is finally closing it's doors and putting us all out of our misery forever....

What? What do you mean we have to watch them again next season? OH FFS!!

Its 2025 mate. You can't get away with stuff like we used to back in the day. All that it would take is someone taking an unfortunate knock accidentally, and the club gets sued. Its nowt to do with us getting home for tea and everything to do with safty and being practical. You can do whatever you want mate and more power to you but you won't convince me that just standing around the ground is anything other the juvenile, kopite behaviour.

Fair enough mate we can just agree to disagree

I’ve been looking at News outlets:::

Are Everton Ceasing as a football team the????

McCartney is the rumour, but I still think its unlikely.

I was told categorically that it will not be McCartney.

From the O.S
<< Once the match has ended, supporters will be able to purchase food and drink – including alcohol – on Goodison’s concourses and return to their seats to enjoy the show. Consumption of alcohol will be permitted within the stadium bowl from the full-time whistle until bars close at 2.45pm.>>
That's barely an hour after the game o_O

By the time people have gone and bought a drink and returned to their seat the show will be over.

An hour is fine.

A lot of people, including myself, want to head into the pubs afterwards.

See Above. They should have allowed a bit of leeway. The end of season players parade usually takes up half an hour. Yet this will be for that too, they are encouraging to gets drinks, watch a show and say goodbye to Goodison forever. It's the usual Everton balls up.

You've been asked nicely lads. Please just think it over and don't make fools of yourself and the club by endangering people all for a little buzz that you'll have forgotten about before you get home.

They've just put some new times up for the Stadium Tour on the Friday before the game if anyone is looking
I was going to come up to Goodison on Monday 12th for the Alan Ball/66 World Cup stadium tour. Decided against it now as I need to get my season ticket next week so need to put my spare money to that. My mate Allan doing the talk and bringing over some memorabilia from the Football Museum

So after the match I'm guessing there is going to be about half an hour to go for a piss, grab a few drinks and get back to the seat for the "show"?

Then when the show finishes the bars will be closed so it's done.

Same i would have liked abit longer maybe hearing some of the ex players aswell hard to trust the club even with new owners because of well how badly have already been dealing with this final season at goodison. Could have done so much more, special last kit for the final game, could have made more things to buy.

Potentially a lot of people. Goodison is a nightmare bottleneck at the best of times. Add ten thousand morons mindlessly standing around while everyone else trys to get in and out and it will be a nightmare.
So someone who is a diehard Evertonian but has been unlucky and unable to get a ticket but still wants to say goodbye to the Old Lady is a "moron"? Give yer head a wobble lad.
