Goodison Park pitch

Bryan+

Player Valuation: £35m
Have you ever played, or been on the pitch at goodison? Either as a just stop oil protester or as an invader. I imagine the view of the stadium is a bit different on the pitch.

If you played, like a charity match or anything. I’m very jealous. I would love to know how that felt tbh.

I legged on after we stayed up v Coventry, jumped on Thomas Myhres back and got a piggy back for a few yards 😀
I suddenly came to my senses and said in my head "you are 40 years old, grow up"
I sloped off towards where I had been sitting, by this point police and stewards were blocking (or trying to) any further invaders.
I remember tapping a copper on the shoulder and meekly saying, "excuse me, can I get back over the wall to go home please" 😀

I got invited along with a mate to have a sneaky tour of Goodison just after the end of a season, one of the things we done, which the official tour doesn't allow, was go onto the pitch so we walked to the centre spot and Jesus the place is massive, you just don't get the size until you stand on the pitch, daft as it sounds you could feel and hear the history of the place, if you were a young player making your debut when it was full it must be terrifying

Yes mate, i played there in 2017, one of them end of season things arranged by Barclaycard i think it was.

It was amazing!

Walking out to Z cars and playing on that pitch was one of my dreams that came true.!!

I was in the away dressing room and i was shocked at how bad it was, there was a council bath in one corner and about 5 showers on the back wall.
The seating area to get changed was literally a hard bench (like Sunday changies) really poor for PL standards or any standard in the professional game

The Home changing room was better in that it had a huge TV on the wall with skysports on and it was little more modern but not much more.

My mate who i go the game with now and have been going with for years played also, he was about to slot in the gwladys street end (I guess to make his dream come true) and came in with this slide tackle on the 6 yard box to block him. To this day he asks me why i had to make that tackle (i regret it now) hahaha

felt like every fan got on the pitch after palace

looking back im suprised how muted the pitch invasion was after bournemouth in comparison given that it was a final day survival however i think at that point our fans were so tired of the relegation battles and ownership issues and couldn't be arsed anymore. It probably helped that we had our destiny in our own hands and that we had a relatively winnable fixture at home against a side with nothing to play for. It was almost expected that we should win that game and survive.

I was ringside for the Bellew fight. Was quite the thing having the Gwladys Street, full to the rafters, chanting behind you.

Played in a charity match maybe 6/7 years ago. Everton kit, home dressing room.

Scored in the Gwladys Street end, keeper spilled a corner, left footed tap in for moment I'll never forget.

Still have videos of me skinning some right back and whipping a cross in for what should of been an assist. Doubt they'll ever be deleted.

I was in the Gwladys street for the Coventry game and after the final whistle needed to take a few minutes to let my nerves settle down, so i stayed in my seat watching the pitch invasion. There was so many running onto the pitch at the final whistle there was nothing the stewards could do to stop it, but there was a copper in front of where I was that was fixed on keeping one young lad from getting onto the pitch, must have grabbed him at least 5 times and pushed him back into the stand despite hundreds of heads pouring onto the field either side of him. Eventually I decided to walk across to the Park End instead of heading out onto the crowded streets.

I legged it on from the Glwadys Street with my ex and our eldest daughter (-v- Coventry) when thousands of others did the same. Remember getting my then 10-year old to go down on her knees to kiss the hallowed turf and she duly obliged. To this day I still have doubts as to whether or not I was doing the right thing bringing her up in the Everton tradition but she always assures me that she wouldn't have it any other way...and, of course, it's been very, very character building.

It had been drizzling, the ball had been zipping about. I ran on at the end too. I did a mad Klinsmann dive in the box and slid on my chest for about 20 yards (probably about 2 in reality). Was magic!
