2024/25 David Moyes

None of us really have the info right now to say what will be best for the club come summer imo.

If it's true that we're still going to be limited in what we can spend then I think Moyes is the guy, and would have us overachieving with a not very good squad.

If we can really have a go at a proper rebuild of the squad I wouldnt want him in charge of it though tbh.

It’s not mutually exclusive mate. You can still agree with most of that and think that appointing Moyes & giving him complete control of the playing side was the completely wrong thing to do to take the club forward.
I don’t disagree at all, I’m inclined to agree if anything, but some people are clearly overreacting to results/decisions rather than making that point.

Moyes is the very definition of short-termism. Time to begin the new era. He can leave with his head held high.
Kinda agree here. He was a means to an end, and fulfilled his mantra. But it seems with such a big overhaul needed this summer, it’s the perfect opportunity for a long term manager to come in and stamp his authority on the squad going forward. Seems a bit of a waste having Moyes do that who could be gone by Christmas. Get in a talented young coach, and invest in talented young players to start building a brighter future. You can’t allow him to clog up the squad with ageing yard dogs like Soucek and Longstaff.

April was always going to be a nightmare, and we've come through it relatively unscathed. Imagine if Dyche had still been in charge for this run of fixtures....

Moyes deserves a couple of transfer windows with some decent backing and he can get us back in the top half of the table competing for European football, which would be a nice change compared to the last several years.

Absolutey love Moyes. But he is no where near the manager we need to take us forward.
The question is what taking forward means, he probably wouldn‘t take us to something like Unai or Howe or like he did in his first 1,5 years of his first spell.

Last 5 games were also a horrible run of fixtures that showed how far this team is under Moyes. I expect and I am sure we will win 2 of the last 5 games.

Only till the end of the season...but now we're...

Same mentality that lumbered us with Lampard and Dyche for longer than both should have done.

At some point the club is going to have to try and break the negative manager cycle and actually plan for the future.

If they go into next season with Moyes then fair enough, I don’t think it is as clear cut as Lampard and Dyche were in terms of barely keeping us up when they both should have had us well clear, but equally Moyes hasn’t exceeded expectations despite what some would think and if the club were to say thanks but no thanks in the summer then that would also be fair enough.
Well the way i see it he inherited a team left in an awful state by Sean Dyche and bereft of confidence, and i give him credit for keeping us up pretty comfortably in the end.

I wasn't that enthusiastic about the second coming of David Moyes but i'd be happy enough now with him being given at least two full seasons just to get us stabilised and moving up the table again.

He did well enough in his first stint as manager when we didn't have two pennies to rub together!

I'd just like to see what Moyes can do for us now that he has owners here who can provide him a lot more cash to spend.

Easy that one. Taking us forward imo, is playing better, more progressive football. Taking a chance, by actually picking the best players to start. Accept, very quickly, when times up for even your favoured players. When things are clearly not working, do something different. Give other players a chance…:..

I think he has inherited a side far better than they played under Dyche and has gotten us safe so that is as far as I can go in praising him .
He still plays players that don't perform well enough and refuses almost point blank to give lads a try ,some on here have forgotten how he was almost hounded out for the style of play he served up last time .
As someone who was lucky enough to see two separate sides win the league I know the difference but for those who weren't so lucky can I just say ,a man who considers getting up and around the chance of playing in Europe ,gets us to fourth but with a negative goal difference and then thinks he is doing his job is not the right one for us .
Would any of the teams up where we want to be settle for that ? My fear is that he has been told he will have time and they do not realise that he is a short step up from what we had earlier in the season .If it is true the calibre of player he is after then my point will be proven .
