Women's team to play games at Goodison.

Im not saying it isn't... Merely is it going to fill a 35,000 capacity stadium enough to make it financially beneficial for the operating costs of an aging stadium, and to generate enough atmosphere that it feels full. Nothing worse than being in a half empty stadium. A quick google seems to have attendances ranging from 2000-4000, admittedly this could be way off as I haven't fully researched but to me that seems a little low to justify the move.

Arsenal Women are getting 40-50k pretty regularly at the Emirates now aren't they?

Of course you still have to market it well for the demand currently outside of big fixtures.

Put a Merseyside derby or fixture against one of the Manchester clubs on an international weekend and you'd get a very decent crowd marketing to families and the ticket deals to reflect that demograph.

There’s no way it’s getting kept as a football stadium as it means the club have wasted a fortune on advertising that fact.

The final Derby, the final goal, the final match: they will all be insignificant events.

I’ve said this before but it should be renovated like Highbury was. To be fair, it shouldn’t even be allowed to be knocked down, it should be a listed building!!

It's exactly the the type of sentimental tripe that club will probably go with.

The problem is the women's game is actually losing money and is being subsidised by the men's game. For all the hype and feel good vibe from England winning the Euros that tournament actually lost money for UEFA and they had to use the profit made from the men's world cup to cover their losses

Here's an idea...

They could keep just the bullens only, and with it the link to all the history. Remove the cladding and restore the original brick on the road side.
Inside, the lower bullens section can be removed and the paddock can be reprofiled so that the back row is the height of the lower bullens is now, but a couple of metres further forward. This will make the views better, which is important if they want to get more through the turnstiles for the women's games. Then, that entire underneath bit could be a nice open concourse area that overlooks the pitch which you can access the paddock from. Guessing it'll be about 4k seats. The upper can be pretty much mothballed as it is, and can be opened up when needed for high demand games, such as the derby.

At the park and street end, build a block of affordable apartments that top out at the same height as the bullens, so the feel of the stadium is preserved. You could add a small bank of terracing at the front of each perhaps.

You could make a great feature of the church on the main stand side, opening it up in full to the ground. You could place community use facilities here, with a glass facade that overlooks the pitch. Changing rooms etc can be added here as well.

I think this would look great, maintain the most historic stand and provide a great venue going forward

Problem is the cost of maintaining a nigh on 100 year old partially timber stand and building new structures hence my suggestion to scale it all down and retain the park end only.

Highbury had 2 art deco facaded stands which lent themselves to redevelopment. The Bullens and Street end were and are big ugly brick buildings.

That would be quite a tight fit, unless you don't want anything at the end of the pitch
Yeah Goodison pitch is 68m wide and 100m long so need at least 20m each end between existing touchlines and Bullens/Goodison Roads to begin to even be feasible I'd imagine.
It's all wishful thinking on my part but thought of it not even being remotely anything to do with Everton/football any longer sickens me.
