He goes down with the likes of Jags, Osman and Baines in my eyes. He’s a blue and has been one of our best players in recent years. He never had a final third goal making pass but that was never him. He was always the machine. A tackler. Optimises the Everton spirit. Weirdly i feel like his passing now is better than it’s ever been.

It was never as bad as people make out anyway. He is a decent passer and a good footballer.

His issue was always he holds on to the ball all little too long at times and he can be wildly erratic at random moments.

Yeah he does if Gakpo goes down there. Luckily he stayed on his feet and the ref just ignores it as he wanted to get out of the ground alive.

Thought his moves for avoiding a second yellow were exemplary, made it clear as crystal that the rs player had clear hold of him and they'd tussled.

He clearly improved on the ball during his time at PSG, but he was never as bad as people made out. Pretty sure his passing % even backed that up. But where he looked an average footballer he now looks pretty darned decent and you can trust him with the ball.

I'm sorry but that 2nd half performance was just ridiculous. He didn't tire, he got bloody stronger as the game went on.

Unreal levels of fitness and concentration. He looked goosed all 1st half yet by the end looked like he was ready to play another 90 minutes

Unbelievable at that age isn't he. Always the guy sprinting after the ball come 90 minutes plus when many younger guys are cooked.

Absolute no brainer to give him another year, hell if he insisted on two to stay I'd give him that too.
