2023/24 Ashley Young

Think he's alright, maybe shouldn't be getting so much game time but that's on Harrison for being so bad lately.
Last few games he has been our best option on the right.

I also like that he will actually challenge the referee most our players dont & just consistently accept bad decisions

Moving forward he shouldn't be in the starting eleven but can provide cover in a number of positions.

To be still in the premier league at his age he must be ultra professional and will be a great example to the youngsters at the club. He has played under two of the greatest managers in the modern era and they have nothing bad to say about him. You need the likes of him in a squad.

Why does nobody else in the league have the likes of him in their squad then?

Agree.

I think it was right for him to start the last couple of games given Harrison's poor form and lack of other options, but your right he shouldn't be starting games for us.

I am pretty sure the amount of times he has lost the ball is higher than the amount of times he has found a blue shirt.

Can't go past players, can't cross without hitting the first man, can't pass, can't tackle.

He has had a good career and nothing majorly against him (there was that time where us and Villa were going at it for a few seasons where you were a bit of a knobhead), but it is obvious that it is one season to far.

Lots of moans and groans but he got applauded off the pitch yesterday, probably because of the effort he put in. Of the players currently fit, he's our best right winger.

You also said this:
He's a Rolls Royce of a defender. He'll be in the same bracket as Carlo Anceloti and Samuel Eto'o when he's gone in that it won't seem real that a player as decorated as him represented our club.

Milner barely ever plays, and no, there isn’t “plenty of others” at all.

There are 4 players over 38 years old. (No 37 year olds, next oldest is 36years and 4 months).

Silva - 30 apps, 2471 mins
Fabianski - 19 apps, 1528 mins (but a gk)
Young - 27 apps, 1908 mins
Milner - 20 apps, 955 mins

So not plenty, and 1 of them is a gk. and Tiago silva is and always has been another level of quality from young or Milner.

was okay with him coming in to cover the full back positions but seeing him start on the right wing and trying to create something is hilarious/sad in equal measures. hits the first defender with every single cross

He was only signed because of our financial situation and will only be retained for the same reason.

There is no doubt that he is no longer Premiership standard.
He wasn't only signed because of that, we also have Dyche at the helm, expect more like him even if there are options available.
