Relegation 23/24 Thread

Even without the deductions it looks grim. Annoyingly, just as we seem to have reeled in Palace and Brentford, it looks like they will get away again.
Without possible deduction I don't think it looks too bad.
If we can win two and draw one of our last seven games, both Forest and Luton will need to win four of their remaining six

Both those things are true.

Luton attack more than we do and Forest play far better football.

However we have accumulated more points because of an emphasis on defence .

It's ugly horrible football but relatively effective.

It might keep you in the division but you will never really progress playing negative football and eventually you will lose a big section of your fan base
Yes, negative football could not bring us too far. Burnley is the case.
But in short term, we need to play this. The main problem is down on the ownership.
If we want to change the style of play and the deep of squad, additional money in recruiting is a must.
With a new owner, we can restart from the squad and play more positive.

We need new sensible ownership and we need to be in this division when we move to BMD.

anything else is a luxury/risk.

Yes we're level with Brentford and Palace are 1 point ahead of us. You would therefore think all 3 teams would be similar odds, but they are 20/1 and we are 5/1
Its for 2 reasons first one is we've had a points deduction and so we've actually earned 5 and 6 points more than those teams and second is because they look at the games still left to play and how likely you are to get points from them not just how many points you've got now. Leaving aside another points deduction we really shouldn't get relegated from this position we're obviously not safe at all but Luton basically need to get 5 points more than we get from their next 6 games when they've only got 5 points from their last 10 games.

Or if we get a fair few points, they will need less points than we do, and we play them on their turf. And we have Chelsea away, Liverpool and Arsenal away. Its all down to these points!!! Hopefully not getting any, and just trying to keep our heads above water whilst games run out.

Yeah… myself and Nobby are talking about 2 different things. I don’t disagree that Forest play better football than us or Luton are more exciting to watch.

But, while the club is in limbo with finances and ownership, we’re not going to see wholesale changes in how the club operates or have an overhaul in playing personnel. In the meantime, our priority is to stay in the Premier League… given the current state of the club, I’ll take points on the board over playing style every day of the week.

You quite rightly say we won’t progress, and the changes have to come sooner rather than later. Absolutely nothing about the club right now is sustainable, and if we don’t go down this season, it won’t be far off in the future if these changes (top to bottom) don’t come about.
