In the future it is clear that Kevin Thelwell sees this model as the way forward for Everton, buy good young players at affordable prices and turn them into premiership players to strenghten the team or bring in transfer fees.

Correct. You can't pick and choose when you build for the future. It's a continuous endeavor and can't be dictated by league position or short termism.
 


Thought he played well when he came on, looked more on pace and point, lovely tackle to knock it at one stage, he has good technical distribution and he moves very well over the ground.
