Why do we care? Anti competition

Just after some research. Since Everton finished 4th in 04/05 some 20 years ago. Only 2 teams outside the 'super' 6 have found themselves finishing in the top 4. Those are Newcastle last season who got 4th but now finding themselves financially restricted. And the second is Leicester who won the league in 2016 and now find themselves in the championship.

20 years of football where only 6 teams have sustained any kind of success. We truly are only there to make the numbers as are the other 14 clubs. Why do we honestly bother? Why isn't bigger noise being made by the 14 to do something about this absolute nonsense.

The 14 of us should join the EPL and make 4 (or 5) proper, old fashioned 1st Division, 2nd Division., etc.

The money would be a fair bit less, but they would still want to televise it. Players would just have to settle for tens of thoudands a month, rather than hundreds of thousands, or feck off to other countries. Either way - even playing field.

Yep making up the numbers but the club owners are desperate to keep their seat on the Premier League gravy train, even if it is in third class, and that is about the limit of their ambition

If we get a double points deduction to send us down I'd honestly like to win promotion and refuse it. I'd no longer want to part of any organisation that's corrupt.

This article, written 20 years ago, is spot on. It talks about everything in the op.
Only because of our love for Everton we keep going

I've said recently though if this 'blue card' thing comes in im definitely done, beyond a joke that.

Yes, it's hardly a new situation. There's no hope. Hope is what makes the NFL so popular in the States. Even if your team is awful, you know you're getting a really good young player after the season. And your fate is tied not to money, but to managerial competence (and a bit of luck).

Hope in the Premier League only exists in the form of wishing your club is taken over by a sovereign nation with large oil exports.

Football has been like this for decades.

The teams from the biggest cities, with the biggest budgets will always take the top positions.

Btw, we were one of the clubs who originally threatened to breakaway from the football league, which brought about the creation of the premier league.

There’s only one thing stopping Everton being competitive and that’s Everton.

Since 2010 only 4 teams outside the Big 5 (Spurs have won nothing so discount them) have won the PL, FA cup or League Cup

(Leicester, Birmingham City, Swansea & Wigan)
