I know like you it would seem a big deal to do but his age is an important factor, as you say. Up to 5 years with us and then back to Italy to Roma to see out his last few years at the top.
I think he's a quality player and would be ok with him being our highest earner. I agree, though, that his wage seems on the higher end but we have to be realistic about the sort of players we can attract and do have to carefully balance our...
Depends who else we're looking at, I suppose. I'm not totally against Douglas Luiz at that price, I'd be very much up for signing him at £100k a week, but it would have a knock on effect, you would have to think, on the rest of our business this...
Excellent point. Shame if he priced himself put of a move to a top league of his salary is quoted as net. There is more transparency on players salaries these days but there are times you still have to say is it this or is it that? 😊

Touted by whom? There is only one person suggesting that figure and he is a professional WUM. There is literally nothing to support that figure in the press.
Their turnover was only £145m so they are not giving 10% let alone 5% of that to a football club, no serious business would do that. Realistically the widely touted figure of £2m-£3m is probably closer to the mark.
I’d say the opposite is true about the league cup, the days of Tranmere and Bradford getting to the final are long gone, it’s a serious competition and we need to give it our full attention.
I might be wrong but there used to be be Italian tax law that exempted 50% of a footballers salary. Naturally our 3 tiers of tax in the UK can put some players off or force clubs to inflate their offer to match the net amount overseas. Having...
Yeah, Italy is odd, sometimes they report wages as after tax. If that's the case here then his wages are completely out of our reach for us. Who knows, though. If his reported wages are after tax then I can't see him moving anywhere other than...
