    MLB 2016

This is why you ALWAYS have to pay attention to the game, no matter how boring it may be. Lucky kid, and a great 'save' by that guy...

    Beer, revisited

If you have any of these at home, age the hell out of it. Good for 10+ years! Had a few with a couple of years on them, and it just gets better.

Pathetic that MLB have forced the roof closed on the Sky Dome.

Sanchez is due to miss the first 2 games isn't he? He's being rested after the Copa America tournament.

This is my starting selection, though may well change in the coming week. All subs are cheap in order to have a strong starting 11 :)

    Heat Wave

It was a very balmy 32c yesterday where I live. And with facing west south west, the walls of the apartment heated up like a brick oven, so it was more like 40c inside. No AC made for a very hot, horrible night. It was 22c at 6.15 am this morning, with the apartment still measuring 38c!! Went...

    Beer, revisited

A lovely drop. Unibroue rarely do a bad beer. The Grand Reserve 17 is a little hot at the moment. I'd hide it and forget about it for a year. I also have a bottle of Terrible at home in the 'cellar' It's from 2002. Gonna crack it open in a couple of weeks when we have our annual Ratebeer...

    Beer, revisited

The good breweries will last, and if they are only doing small batches for the local/surrounding communities, then there's no reason for them not to succeed. Bask in the joy of having such choices!

    Beer, revisited

Not been drinking as much beer recently as I once did, so it has to be something special to draw me away from my wine & cocktails....well, tonight it was a 2005 Thomas Hardy Ale. Had it in my cellar from the release, and it has aged, and is ageing wonderfully. Clean dark ruby pour. Aromas and...

    Blue Angels

Last airshow I got to go to was in Toronto over 5 years ago. There's nothing in Edmonton, but they are supposed to be bringing back a local airshow this August. First time in over a decade. Hoping it's worth going to? I have to make do with the occasional flyover by a CF-18 or vintage aircraft...

    Blue Angels

Sadly, we don't get Vulcan's this side of the pond. And being where I live now, I don't get to any airshows.

    Blue Angels

The Arrows put on a better overall show, but the Angels are fun to watch and just the sheer noise from the F-18 pisses all over the Hawk!!!

Another Sox fan here, and another vote that you have to go to Fenway. I wouldn't bother with the Rogers Centre in Toronto, unless you really have to see the Jays play. It's an expensive, soulless stadium, and unless they are playing Boston or New York, it'll be around half full.
