He's played himself out of the side, both due to his on field performances and off the field flirting.

It's good to see that his confidence doesn't get shot too much. He had a poor game on Monday and a couple of weeks back he had a few games where he was poor but he's bounced back twice now (against Burnley and today). Thought he was great today...

Despite on the edge of pooing for most of the game yesterday, I thought we defended superbly.

The first I think would have been soft to give I think but the latter two should have been penalties based on what has been given this season for them. I don't think the handball should be given as a penalty but it has been so the referees and...

I forgot what a player who runs at people looks like. Wow.

Sadly he's naff. I feel terrible for him because he seems like a decent bloke and desperately wants it to work out but he's just not a PL footballer.

ToffeeScot replied to the thread 2023/24 Sean Dyche.
Agreed. The set up is strange. We play a mix of a low block and high press at times so there are massive gaps between the defence and midfield. There were times yesterday that Palmer was sitting on his own in the middle between the defence and...

Don't think he's lost the dressing room per se, the tactic set up was just naive. He mentioned in his post-match interview "the strange feeling around Chelsea, could we get into them, could we get after them" - let's be honest, most blues I've...

Agree. He doesn't suit the set up that Dyche plays him in but he also gives about 75% effort (if that) in most games. Cares more about getting a move to a top club than us, I'd sell him in the summer and get someone who actually fights for us. I...

ToffeeScot replied to the thread 2023/24 Sean Dyche.
Having a go themselves? Yeah, ok. He clearly set them up to press high and have a high line. It's not his fault that our squad is full of mentally weak players and players who think they're too big for the club. It can't always be the manager to...

He's mentally never really checked into Everton. Big ego and cares more about being it than the team.

ToffeeScot replied to the thread 2023/24 Sean Dyche.
I thought the first half we set up in the correct way, we created a few chances, pressed well and Beto should have scored. Once they scored though we collapsed and made error after error. I don't blame Dyche tonight much...tonight was all about...

I'd give him the opportunity to get us out of the Champ but I would reassess where we were at in Jan regarding that opportunity.
  • ToffeeScot
Yes. I think it can get better than Dyche and eventually will but it's a high risk strategy because to get better we have to play in a style which will be the complete reverse of what Dyche has made us good at. I wouldn't really replace Dyche...

I still don't understand why this rollercoaster ride is acceptable during a season.
